There is nothing about these ladies that isn't impressive. Well, other than those outfits. My thanks also for coming back to Lovebites. This song is from their most recent full album, Electric Pentagram. It was written and arranged by Miyako, as was When Destinies Align. The thrash song, Break the Wall, was cowritten by Miho (who started Lovebites because of her love for Steve Harris and Iron Maiden) and Miyako. These ladies don't just play at a very high level, they write at an equally high level. For your next Lovebites songs, I suggest Thunder Vengeance written by Miho after she watched a Slayer concert and Set the World on Fire, another Miyako song. You should also watch Thunder Vengeance because of what they are wearing. They only wore them for that song (likely because the suits told them to) and haven't worn them since. Both songs are on their KZbin channel.

They are so very good. They are high brow metal. Most of the Japanese bands have an aesthetic that sets them apart from other band's. They consider themselves as more of an orchestra than a Band. Rock on John!😊😎🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

They chose white because its the opposite of black and dresses because they wanted the outfits to represent their personal lives and how sophisticated they are outside their band life

Adding my thanks for featuring Lovebites again. Re. the outfits: Many of the Japanese female rock bands wear super-feminine outfits, in part to create a contrast with the hard edge of the music. It's called "the Gap". I personally love it, the idea of these angelic looking women ripping our faces off with their playing just works. But of course it's a matter of personal taste.

@@ProjectEllsworthReacts you don’t have to like the dresses but they have changed with time, becoming more theatrical. They are making a statement because the music they play is traditionally associated with black… they always play in white. And as Hiawatha G says, it creates the “gap”. It wins more admirers than it loses because the most common comments in first time reactions (after WTF) are people having a mental battle between what they are seeing and what they are hearing. That mental battle is always positive and it creates intrigue. Because of Covid and because of the omnipresent Band Maid and BabyMetal, Lovebites are not nearly as well known as they should be. For that reason I love the outfits because they help generate interest in the band. That and they look nice!

@@alekhidell It's actually interesting--most metal fans may not pick up on it, but many of their songs also have theatrical elements that are reminiscent of Broadway shows, chorus lines and movie soundtracks. Under the Red Sky and Frozen Serenade, and everything on GGTTW, are great examples. So it makes sense for their look to match the theatricality of the music.

Unbelievable performance. Midori and Miyako are perfect together. I LOVE the white outfits because it makes them entirely UNIQUE in heavy metal. And as a man, who doesn't love an elegantly dressed gorgeous woman on stage and Lovebites gives you FIVE gorgeous woman dressed like that.

don't know if it's because I'm Japanese, Japanese people are very worried about "small errors" (I hate them very much). I want to make the error 0 as much as possible, but for that purpose, many people thoroughly think about "what and how to make it 0?". People who have a strong tendency to do so are called "craftsmen" (syokunin) in Japan. Besides music, it exists in everything from cooking and architecture to art and culture to manufacturing. 日本人だからなのかどうか分かりませんが、 日本人は「僅かな誤差」が凄く気になります(凄く嫌います)。 可能な限り誤差を０にしたいと考えますが、その為には「何をどうすれば０になるのか？」を徹底的に考える人が多いです。 その傾向が強い人を、日本では「職人」(syokunin)と呼びます。 それは音楽以外にも、料理や建築、芸術や文化、製造など、全ての物に存在します。

I love when bands does different things in their riffs when in their live concerts.

LOVEBITES often wears their influences on their sleeve. There's a number of songs that sound like Maiden, perhaps none more than "The Crusade" which I believe actually is a tribute to them. I think every LB fan liked Miho. She will be missed no matter who the new bass guitarist is revealed to be. I've seen the overhand playing done poorly where it just looks cheesy, but Midori and Miyako pull it off here, especially with how smoothly both transition out of it.

Check out their outfits in one of their “Studio Live” performances where you get to see them in normal street clothes as if you’re in the center of an informal jam session. There are a couple of of them out there on KZbin, Liar Studio Live, Rising Studio Live, Helloween Studio Live. You’ll like.

Miho left for personal reasons, not any friction with the band. Hard days for the Wolfpack. Re.influences, they openly celebrate their influences like Maiden, Priest, Sabbath, Purple, Helloween, Dragonforce, Slayer and more. As Newton said, "standing on the shoulders of giants".

Some people say that they are redefining metal or that they are breaking the walls of stereotypes in the metal scene. Others say that it’s a crime that two of the best guitarists in the world (male or female) are in the same band. By the way, another great Japanese rock guitar band (instrumental) with an outstanding guitar duo (a man and a woman) is D_Drive.

I don't feel that they are redefining metal, I feel that they are simply making great metal music. I don't feel like there are female stereotypes in the metal scene either. There aren't enough of them for there to be a stereotype. They are an outstanding band in my eyes, not an outstanding female band. They're very, very impressive. I just ain't into the outfits.

I get your point regarding the dresses and I agree that they aren't needed, but I definitely prefer them over Band-Maid's maid costumes for example. And as far as stage costumes go they aren't that strange.

Holky jsou technicky určitě moc dobré, ale metal je metal - jen prosté rychlé mydlení do nástrojů a jedna píseň jako druhá! Originální nápad a píseň přijde jen jednou ze sta případů, jinak jako vejce vejci! Rock není tak jednoduchý, proto mám raději Band Maid, Trident nebo mexosestry The Warning z Monterey! 😉 Občas si rád nějaký metal poslechnu, ale není to nic, co by obracelo hudební svět naruby! 👍

Jistě, někdo řekne, že Trident jsou také metal - mno prvky tam jsou, osobně tam cítím i prvky punku a potom je tam stopa po jejich původní bubenici Junna - i ta současná bubenice její styl napodobuje vcelku dobře! Je to prostě od metalu dostatečně odlišné a hlavně originální!

There's no reason to apologize for your opinions. Opinions are like ********; everybody has one. Your opinion is just as valid as anyone else's. I watch your reactions to hear your opinion, not to validate my own likes and dislikes. If someone get pissed about your opinions, they don't have to watch. The bass player chose to leave the band. The band and management tried many times to talk her out of it, but she made her choice. It's time to replace her and move on. I happen to like the contrast between their outfits and their music - just adds a little dichotomy. But I understand that not everyone would like it.

Hey, Ralph. Believe me when I tell you, I will never in a million years apologize for my opinion. I say things like that trying to stave off the idiotic attacks for not liking something. You would be amazed at how many comments I get in response to not liking these outfits as compared to how I feel about the actual music, which is the important thing. It's sort of a barometer for where were are as humans in society. Can't see the forest through the trees. I love the band and the song, but everyone gets heartbroken and offended by me saying that I don't think that they need the outfits. Unbelievable.

I agree. Most people can't do this no matter how hard they try. I know people who have been playing guitar for 30 years, and they are nowhere near the level of Midori and Miyako.
