Lovebites - "Stand and Deliver" (Live) - First Reaction

For me, the energy and enjoyment seen on stage makes up for anything lost from the studio version.

The song "Stand and Deliver" was written to encourage audience participation in the chorus after the Corona event restrictions were lifted. Fortunately, the restrictions were lifted for this revival concert, and the members and the audience are enjoying themselves together as if they were releasing three years of resentment.

If you read the sleeve notes, the original version only features the rest of the band in the gang vocals. (The wording is very specific) The chorus is all Asami. Obviously there is only one of her so the music video features the band and obviously, live, it has to. Don’t read too much into LOVEBITES playing a variety of styles…it’s what they do. And they have no songs of any less merit than any other…no album fillers. After 3 years following and supporting them I can tell you that what seems to happen with most listeners is an automatic “ranking” process. Listen to song, decide where it ranks and, most importantly, decide if they really like it. If they aren’t sure, then that song sits in their catalogue rarely played because it’s not on a playlist. Try doing what I did. Play every new song AT LEAST three times before making a judgement. The best example of this process I can give you is “Nameless Warrior”. When that came out, many fans dismissed it as not up to par…they may deny doing so but I remember the comments clearly. Fast forward two years and the live version is widely acclaimed by the same people who weren’t keen the first time around. Why? Because they had hardly ever heard it in the intervening period. Yes the live version brings it to life but it’s still the same magnificent song it always was. Homework. Play this song 12 times…🤘😂

This one is more in line with songs like Raise Some Hell, more like party fun songs for the crowd to sing along! 🤘🐺🤘 You can really tell how happy and excited they were to be back on stage after a long break and Fami was having the time of her life, love it!!

It's definitely not typical Lovebites fare, but I like the fact that they can deliver such a variety of songs and do it all well.

I would put this song in the upper half of the Lovebites catalog just as I would put it in the upper half of my favorite songs on the album. This is crowd pleasing song in the same vein as Raise Some Hell but it has more significance. It is the first song cowritten by Asami and Miyako and I hope it is the first of many more in the future.

This song has a catchy hook and it makes for a great crowd engagement LIVE track. BTW, there might be some confusion, this video that dropped today is from the soon to be released LIVE LP "Knockin' at Heaven's Gate - part II" on 20 December (next month). Part II was the concert on the second night of their "We are the Resurrection" comeback tour held on 12 March this year. The other tracks you have heard so far are from the previous LIVE LP "Knockin' at Heaven's Gate" (part I). Part I was the concert on the first night of the same comeback tour, held on 11 March this year. They were back-to-back concerts.

It is a killer song but I still prefer the studio version and it goes the same with Judgement Day. I have to get this off my chest, when hundreds and possibly close to a thousand reactors post this on their channel after it was just released, it gets more views than the actual Lovebites channel to me is pathetic Reactors should give the song some exposure, and run time and react to older songs they haven't done so the Lovebites channel get the views and like it deserves.

I don't agree, and I don't think Lovebites would agree either. Lovebites simply want exposure, and it doesn't matter if it is views on their KZbin channel or from overseas reactors. They want to sell their concert Blu-rays and they want overseas fans to buy tickets to their shows. Lovebites will make their US debut next fall at ProPower (I have my ticket), and I am sure a US tour will follow. They will probably be back in Europe next year also. If they were to choose between views on their KZbin channel or sold-out shows overseas in 1000+ venues, they would choose the latter.

@@danw6048 we are all entitled to our own opinion so I disagree with your take, IMO it is better that they see more views and likes on their channel to see how much is being viewed as a whole, if I were close to the band of any profession My thoughts would be "Look they prefer to see reactors over your music videos" still very pathetic in my eyes

Out of 60 songs by them I think I have this one ranked between 20 to 30. Good but not great by Lovebites standards.
