when they mentioned the Tulsa massacre, I was a little confused because I only heard about it once and it was in the Watchmen series. Until now, I thought it was an invention from the Watchmen universe, an alternate reality where this happened. but apparently it's the kind of history you don't learn anywhere like it's not even worth mentioning like it didn't have any meaning. that's what happen when a country is run by only old white men.

@brittneyjones10064 жыл бұрын
why do you say you have been very hypocritical of the show?
@isham20444 жыл бұрын
Time works differently for those who enters through the portal. Hippolyta whole entire journey at Earth 504 was a week long until she came back this episode. So what felt like minutes of Leti walking, it was probably just seconds for Hippolyta. And we got to see Hippolyta in her blue hair so the wait was worth LOL
@julius-stark4 жыл бұрын
@@brittneyjones1006 every time Hollywood makes a show/movie with black people it seems to always be about racism, like that's the only stories they can tell with black people. The fact this show was mixing horror and sci-fi gave me a lot of hope it would be about those elements and not hinge so heavily on racism but it does and it kind of takes me out of enjoying it a lot of the time. I like that they make a lot of historical references and try to weave them into the story to justify it, but it just wears me down after a while. Luke Cage was probably the last show I saw that tackled social issues without beating you over the head with it as well as being entertaining but it's rare.

Christina said her plan had been meticulously planned out. I’m pretty sure she knew they would go back and get the book. I’m also sure that’s why she did a “band aid” fix for Dee. So they would get the book. Letti walking in slow mo is probably out of shock and sheer exhaustion. She’ll never be the same. She watch someone burn to death and walked through the most violent, hatful thing she has seen and couldn’t do anything. Fear, rage, focus, shock, trauma and restraint walking down the street. I’m pretty sure she wasn’t in her right mind. Her first initial shock when she was shot, I don’t think she was in her right mind then either. She was terrified. And if she was overthinking, she probably wasn’t sure if the spell from the future would work in the past.

In the first episode whenever they escaped the Shoggoths only Tic remembered them, remember? So that'll be why there's a gas leak story. And it looks like the 'dream' Tic and Leti keep having about his ancestor in the burning mansion is a time they might travel to (can't wait to hear what she's trying to tell them) I think it was also a pretty clear indicator that Christina's evil (in case you weren't absolutely certain) when she visited the Sheriff's office to gloat rather than asking him to remove the curse on Dee - if she'd cared she could've offered to remove the spell preventing his healing - and she obviously knew he was still alive, if only for a short time. This episode was an emotional one, I cried a few times during the Tulsa Massacre scenes, Montrose's pain at reliving it all, and I wept into my hot chocolate at the scene where Leti stays with the grandmother while she resigns herself to burning to death. Especially the line about her grandson being her 'faith made real'. OMG my heart. This is an amazing series. Can't wait to see the next episode. Thanks for the amazing rundowns/things you missed etc.

She took the book from Titus Braithwhite while she was pregnant with his child as his house burned down and it was in Atticus’s family until is was burned in Tulsa. I have read many Lovecraft books but this series doesn't show too much of it, at least for now. The things I can think of are that the shaggoths were created by an old race, the "Elder things" an alien race, eventually the shaggoths became too smart for the elder things. The sheriff reminded me of the Reanimator, a scientist that keeps himself alive by using other persons body parts. The search for the pages in the museum reminded me of how the main character of The call of cthulhu travels to different ruins.

Watching Lettie walk through the fires of white hatred, book in hand, hearkened me back to 6 year old Ruby Bridges. Anyone else?

This has been one of the best series I've watched in a while...other than the Mandelorian, with Yoda. This episode is so flawed with the characters being ridiculously selfish...this is coming over from episode 8. Ruby saying that they're all to be blamed for Diana's getting cursed. When if you guys remember in episode 7 HIPPA left Diana with Ruby. So for her to say that it's just so ridiculous. Also, I was cussing at the screen for Leti to run...so she can reach the portal before HIPPA keels over because, she was literally frothing from the mouth, hair turning blue and eyes turning white, holding on to dear life...just to save her daughter. Meanwhile, Leti is strolling in the street because, she knows she can't die The only person who I can't give anything other than understand and empty...is Montrose. That man has been through a lot. It's a wonder he can still stand up straight and talk coherently. My prediction for next week is that Jiah will be the game changer...the sad part is...I think she will die though.

They are all supposed to be damaged by some kind of trauma or dreams deferred. Thus their eventual heroism is especially remarkable.

The Shogoth was not acting on it’s on, it was summoned to protect him from that spell Montross did on Tic. And I think that’s why it was Black and the others were white.

I think the Sogoth (sp) that helped Tic was created when he did attempted to do the protection spell. It didn’t look like the other ones.

Everyone mentioning how slow Letti was as Hippolyta was suffering from constipation to keep the portal open when why not close the portal, wait some time and reopen it long enough for them all to hop on through. Lol.
@TrueGamer228874 жыл бұрын
There’s also never a mention that the portal has a time limit on it and leti had no idea what was happening to hip. Stupidest nitpick I’ve seen on this episode

Tic and Ruby aren't close. Ruby is, in fact, closer to Christina, so I wasn't taken aback by how chill Ruby was with him dying. She was campaigning on behalf of Christina and trying to get Lettie to join them, and she rolled her eyes learning Lettie was pregnant with Tic's child. I think there's love between Christina and Ruby. Kudos to the actresses btw - they have hella sexual chemistry, even though the two of them haven't been physical onscreen.
