@@SequoiaSleeps I met a nice Lancashire man as a child, and his crotchet,,knitting, embroidery etc. was something to behold. When he was hospitalised after being wounded in ww2 he filled his time doing these “ domestic” skills which won the admiration of many, including the ladies. That’s not all. He was a fab cook too. Wonderful tutorial. French knots seem to be my nemesis. (Half are perfect half are wonky.) Biggest issue found was that most tutorials go too quickly with a right handed teacher (complicated it for my left handed self), forget to mention to move to a nearby position (not the starting hole), and attempt to use a length of thread that is inappropriate for beginners (too long or way too short). But yours allows for easier viewing and a good place with a great explanation (so either hand can figure it out). Thanks so much for this.

This video is very helpful. I'm a total beginner, trying out different stitches. I was trying the chain stitch, and a lot of other videos tell you to bring the needle up through a loop of thread. I found that method very difficult. This method of going under the previous stitch was MUCH easier, and looks lovely. I look forward to trying the other stitches in this video.

I appreciated how many threads you were using per stitch type and how clear your instructions are. I just watched 2 other videos and they don't mention how many threads each time like you do. That extra detail to know is very helpful. Thank you. I may follow my late mothers footsteps. She made clothes and knew even how to repair a sewing machine. She also made stuffed dolls and I remember when I was 2yrs old, watching her make my dress with a matching purse doll. I still have it to this day. She was taught by her step mother, Thelma, who made dresses for her granddaughters, so the dresses my mom made me, look just like how, Thelma, made dresses for her granddaughters.
