As a fellow disabled person im really impressed by her honesty in saying how it was uncomfortable and hard at first. These are normal emotions and reactions when meeting someone with a disability and rather then pretending those awkward moments aren't real or happening and instead acknowledging it just shows how true her feelings and love are for him. Love doesn't come easy and good things are worth working hard for. Thank you for seeing the human and the soul behind the disability and being patient with yourselves and mostly others. ✌🧡🦓

It helps them cope with the fact that women take zero interest in them as they can blame it on their financial status and women only caring about that and looks. So when faced with couples that prove women are nothing like what they tell themselves they are (and accepting the reason women want nothing to do with them has nothing to do with their looks or finances) they panic and start spewing hate. Growing up in Chicago I remember seeing him one day walking home from school in the 6th grade. My mom always taught me it wasn’t polite to stare but I stared at him. I wasn’t scared I was intrigued and wanted to know what happened. Of course I never asked and kept walking but I remember hearing a sound of talking from a device he had asking someone he picked up from school how their day was and I thought it was nice that he asked. The tube in his neck is a tracheotomy, he breathes through that. He probably has gastrostomy. It’s a tube that enters the digestive tract from the outside. Some go into the stomach and some do into the jejunum, part of the bowel. A liquid feed is pumped into the stomach or bowel. This is what is meant by tube feeding. There’s quite a few types. What you have depends on many factors. I have a venting gastrostomy that drains my stomach into a bag or I’d throw up all the time. I also permanent IV in my chest, to get nutrition because my stomach and bowels are paralysed. (It’s called TPN, total parenteral nutrition). But as his stomach and digestive tract is fine, he can tube feed.

My dad got married at 47, had 2 daughters, mum was 31 but even as a teenager, it was dad who was full of life and played cricket with us, rode horses with us etc. Guy in our church was even older, late 50's and found the most lovely ywife. This is so beautiful ❤ as someone who became partially handicapped after an accident 9 years ago this tugs at me. I’m very insecure that a woman will see me on my worst days and run for the hills. During these days I experience a lot of double & blurry vision, fatigue, and having to rest a lot, either sitting or lying down with my legs elevated above my heart to drain the swelling. In some ways I’m in the best shape of my life. But I get insecure that I won’t be able to spend quality time or help take care of future children as much as I would like to. There will also be many times where I have to focus on rehab instead of getting up & having a regular family morning. As well as days where my future wife may want to make love but I’m feeling too crippled to take part. Seeing this story gives me hope for love in the future ❤️

This is a reminder that we are visual beings, but at heart were soul beings. I have cerebral palsy, and one of the major reasons why I'm picky about my partner is... the vulnerability that the "disability" gives you. But that's also what makes us a little different. I've always admired that we were able to see a soul a it better because we had to take a step back and be more vulnerable than a lot of other people. So people can believe what they want, but it's a soul connection. It's not about the temporary matrix body because deep down, our souls know that it's bigger than that.
