I had to come in and comment just to help out. Love you man, keep it up. Most definitely my favorite audio channel. I'd like to see you build something with a big subwoofer too, just as a channel suggestion. 👍

I am an interior designer, engineer and trained as an electronics technician. I like your videos and the way you build your speakers. They are characterized by a perfect style and good design. The skills you use to make them are really great. I also like the components. These days I have finished a small box with a Markaudio CHR-70 in it. This chassis sounds great when played alone. The only thing I don't like about your 3-way speakers are the black metal stands. Somehow these don't quite fit with the otherwise beautiful design. Greetings from Germany from Michael.

😅 I don't know, I kind of like the look of the stands on the speakers. Plus that brings them off of the floor or shelf wherever you're putting them.. What a fantastic looking set of speakers. Great build, great job. Now I want to hear them

I could never do what you do with the design and cabinetry. Don't fuss on boo boos. But maybe I missed something. I have never seen twwter positioning in the back like that. In blows my mind. I understand the woofers. Can you explain the tweeters? I must have missed it in pt 1. Is this your genios design? And how does it sound? Does it all come together with a good integrated sound stage? I can't believe you don't have at least 30 thousand subscribers yet. You are a hidden gem.
@sonnoradesign
@sonnoradesign Жыл бұрын
Hey Mike. Thanks for the input man! Im working on the channel, let’s grow it!! The front driver (fullrange) plays the full spectrum from around 200Hz to 20KHz. The tweeter on the back help with the soundstage. Makes it deeper and add highs to the response. It plays in reverses phase to match the front driver. Some speakers in the market use that already with good results.

Hey Bernardo! Best day ever! Quick questtion. Sound-wise, I wanna rock out in a pretty big room, like 5x8 meters-and watch some videos too. I really like a wide soundstage and great imaging more than high volume. Are you liking recent transmission line build or more the Dayton Audio reference? CHR towers?I Prefer something a bit smaller, but you might convince me otherwise. Thanks man, keep it up!
@sonnoradesign
@sonnoradesign Жыл бұрын
Hey Earl. Man, those speakers are different but they all sound good at the same time. CHRs are very powerful, soundstage I’d say the TL is great, Dayton is very detailed but lack of SPL…

@@sonnoradesign in my spare time I am working on something similar. A small tower using 1 MAOP 7, 4 SEAS H1480 16cm woofers (push-push), 1 rear firing Fountek Neo 1.0 tweeter. If this works, my next project might be a larger version using 4 SB Acoustics Satori MW19 woofers with 1 SB acoustics Satori MR16 midrange (300-8kHz) and 1 Mundorf AMT17D2 or Satori AT60 operating in open baffle (8-20kHz).

I thought solid wood has an inherent resonance and not the best for speaker enclosure.?
@sonnoradesign
@sonnoradesign Жыл бұрын
It might not have the best damping but people use hardwood (Boenicke, Sibelius) as well as plywood and mdf. I usually add the sonic barrier which helps. I got resonances (vibration) from plywood and mdf already, bad ones but never from hardwood. Physics? There are videos comparing different kinds of wood. Check it out. John Heizs channel.

Why don't you simply use T-nuts on the inside of the cabinet to screw the woofer to the MDF instead of a the wood rings? kzbin.info/www/bejne/jneYcot-ZrJsqrc I remember they were always recommended on Speaker Builder magazine. They cost less than $1 each, probably less in Home Depot, and are a very solid grip for the drivers.
