I loved this! Can you make a video about a guitar amp being transformed into a home speaker that Bluetooth? I have one but I’m not sure where to place things to make it look great and not just function.

Superb skills! Have you considered building a Voigt pipe or a BIB version. Would be interesting to see what you think of those designs.

I hope this post finds you well. I am writing to inform you that I am going to try building a CHR. I have been setting up the tools that I need to get a good result, and I am almost ready to begin. I hope that everything is going well for you. I will keep you updated on my progress, and I will let you know when I have completed the build. Thank you for the videos that you have shared with us. They have been very helpful in my understanding of the CHR project. I also appreciate your dedication to the project. You have stuck with it until you were satisfied with the results, and I am inspired by your determination. Bobby G

If the QTS value of the woofer is 0.46, shouldn't the cabinet be made as a closed type? I think the Qts value of the tweeter is 0.92 seems to be high. I think the value below 0.707 is an appropriate value.

Superb grain matching there. Impressive skills and use of your nice workshop. I am no longer allowed to keep house plants... I am too neglectful! Thanks!

I've seen people use the bottom of their garden as an anechoic chamber substitute. If you are away from buildings and dont have street noise this should work!? Dense foliage also helps absorb sound.

Amazing paint job! Thanks for all your effort and enthusiasm. Lovely, tidy workshop by the way. Just prdered a pair of these drivers. Considering a voigt pipe type design. The BIB version is interesting too.

@hectorh.carranzagonzalez4341Ай бұрын
Thank you, great explanation. Only a question: why you didn't fed the BT board directly from the amp's power supply? I'm looking forward to do it myself with my amp

Great design. What product are you using to coat the front baffles black?

Hey there! Thanks for watching! I use that matte black rust oleum spray and matte clear coat as well. All at Home Depot. Simple stuff.

I so want to build these speakers! I have a problem though, the Markaudio CHR line is no longer available in the U.S., as far as I can tell, since Madisound is permanetly closed. That wouldn't be nearly the issue if I knew how to build my own x-overs, but I dont. Are there, or do you have different speaker options that you have worked out?
@sonnoradesignАй бұрын
Ops. Is Madisound closed? Website is working for me. They show the CHR still but maybe CHP would work well. I’d need the drivers to make the crossover. I have another design coming up which is the CHR 3 way. With super tweeter and 10 inch subwoofer on the side, maybe you could wait a bit.

Video @ 29:18 , showing the frame of this Markaudio transducer not strong enough. Distorted due to uneven tightness of screws.
@sonnoradesignАй бұрын
Thanks for watching Gary!! Thats right the frame is plastic so that was not the final tightening. It needs to sit for a day so the foam gets in shape then you tighten it again, and even it up. 😎

can you use an 8 ohm woofer in this speaker?
@sonnoradesignАй бұрын
Yes. The crossover should change a little bit though. Are you making those? I can check.
@markmacleod6971Ай бұрын
They look great. Very much like the Boenicke W5's . Probably sound just as good or better . I don't think the built in stands were necessary , but all in all a fantastic design.
@sonnoradesignАй бұрын
Hey Mark!! That’s right, not really necessary. It does sound really good. Thanks for the input my friend.

@sonnoradesignАй бұрын
That’s good input. I’ll work on a subwoofer version sometime!!
@dylanmax7375Ай бұрын
make video 3!!! Not super clear on how running the signal in parallel to 2 drivers impacts the slope of the audio signal for each driver. Also are resisters mostly used such that you only send certain voltage to each driver based on what they are rated for? This way you don't over power the drivers

I tried a pair of Lii Song F6 drivers. Shrill and sibilant. The Real Audio guy Jonas, says they need to be broken in very slowly... Then they will stop shreaking. But i blew one up. Going to try the F-6S next... Beautiful orange plastic baskets!
