Lovely Good Endings

There's nothing I love more than a happy ending to a video game. Though games are fun for the player, the poor main characters have to face increasingly tougher and tougher enemies and challenges throughout their adventure, with the threat of death looming around each and every corner. The stress must really get them down.
But everything changes once the final blow has been delivered to the ending boss. With the ultimate evil of the world vanquished, it's a huge weight off your shoulders, and it's time to sit back and enjoy the wonderful and postitve effect you've had on the game world. After all, it would be far too cruel to take everything you've done away at the last minute, right?
In this series, I take a look at my favourite feel-good and heart-warming video game endings.

I'm reminded suddenly of how much Actraiser feels like the Decision series. Decision is a top down shooter about cleaning out an entire town full of zombies, but you do missions inside the city to reinforce each section's ability to fight back against the invasion. Not as hybrid as Actraiser in the slightest but their themes are so similar and the goal is nearly the same.

Omfg, I love this game to death. I played it all the time in my childhood. This was easily one of my favorite games, and now that I think back on it, I realize why...and it's because literally everything that you did in this game was satisfying. And the ending is awesome and rather heartwarming~ It's such a shame that it fell off after ActRaiser 2. Man what I wouldn't give to get a good sequel or remake of this beautiful, underappreciated gem.

@@00yiggdrasill00 Oh yeah, it actually came out on the Switch a couple months ago now I think. I beat it to completion within the week. It was a great game~ At first I didn't like the new tower defense mode in the life sim part, but I got the hang of it after a while. It still leaves much to be desired, but it's fine. I'm honestly not sure which version of the game I like more. I like the action stages more in the remake, but I prefer the life sim segments of the original.

@@JaCaBrA144 It's a term born out of Anime Fandom. Often in Japanese Dubbed Anime, characters will use English Words. But because the actors are Japanese, they pronounce the words differently. L becomes r, v become b, t and h together become s, etc. Hope that cleared things up a little.

I am glad that Act Raiser avoided Christian terms. I am not one, and I do not want to get flak over that. But it gave it a kid Icarus feel at times. It also left it open enough not to discriminate against other beliefs as far as playing the game went.
