BIG MOOD. I do wish some of the ghost members did have a more polite leave so the lawsuit drama shit didnt happen. But it is nice that Simon and others here can indulge in a completely different style of music than Ghost's style. Because real talk, what makes Ghost is the choir, voice, and theatrics. Tobias would just need musicians with an ok stage presence.

Awesome shit Lovely. It's like everything you touch was gold pulled from an 80's timecapsle. Priest is really making it clear that quality synthwave is what they're about. You can hear the progression of quality and dedication as each new track drops. This song makes me want to rebel and reject the status quo. Working as intended? I think so. 😋
@darr0w26 жыл бұрын
Robust Enigma honestly their songs don't feel so pulled from the 80s, combined with the electro style, it really seems modern, this one especially. This one seems more like a revolution, a rebellion of some sort, but the lyrics are more towards a betrayal. It's awesome

This track is sooo bittersweet. This is the first Priest track ive ever heard. Instantly hooked and consumed the entire New Flesh album…only to learn the singer Mercury (originally Tom Asberg) is no longer part of the project. Sure, the band itself carried on with some solid beats, but the new vocals fall INCREDIBLY short (short enough that i dont care to listen). Asbergs new project doesnt have the same vibe either. Rest in peace Priest 1.0- all we wanted more of but will never have
@ishouldhelpthisguy2 жыл бұрын
I actually like the Linton's (the new mercury) voice, and I also like The Brides of the Black Room haha, but yeah, New Flesh and the Obey EP will always be the best in my opinion
@DavidReyes-xm7vd2 жыл бұрын
@@ishouldhelpthisguy The issue i have with LInton as Mercury is that the vocals lose a lot of their uniqueness and the music becomes generic synthpop- solid beats with so so male vocals stuck in a single pitch. There's nothing bad about the music, but the chantlike vocals lose the power/edge. Asberg brought power and range. im not a trained singer, but when i sing along to LInton i can tell i have to kind of mumble/subdue my voice to try and emulate. with Asberg's studio tracks, im am very much aware where it takes skill and control to hit it (and how much i suck), but damn it you can really feel that some parts are sung loudly with skill
@ishouldhelpthisguy2 жыл бұрын
@@DavidReyes-xm7vd you know, I would actually agree with that. Especially on the fact that Tom's voice is unique. He has one of my favorite voices I've ever heard haha

@@FuzzballSupreme priest put out a new album in 2022 “body machine” with linton Rubino doing vocals as mercury, and a cover of depeche modes “personal jesus” in january 2023 The original vocalist Tom Asberg (Ginger Khan) did Vaudeville and the debut release album “new flesh”. Last i heard he was working on a new group called “brides of the black room”….it was ok. Maybe they put more out, but last i listened it was nothing id go out of my way to recommend. Theres trace elements of the awesomeness in the track ambulence, but it sounds more like priest 1.0 as if they were pulling punches (less hard)

@themadgamer45717 жыл бұрын
masood rizvi I agree, like every song has a line or verse that is some type of metaphorical relation to ghost. He puts his personal financial affairs on social media then I just recently found out he uses money he has to pay for advertisement on Ghost pages. WTF... Trying to phish fans from the person he's trying to sue. The more I look into it, the more subtle details show that this is for Simon's benefit. He has money, he's paying for advertisements. He didn't even write riffs to Ghost songs. He just helped produce and play riffs already written, all of these little details seem phishy, like I'm gonna try to sue Tobias for even more money to fund my new project and steal fans. Also obviously, if he wrote songs for Ghost then shouldn't there be some type of commonality here? Oh wait he just produces Priest, he doesn't even write music here.
@themadgamer45717 жыл бұрын
masood rizvi Also you must be the one person I've noticed so far that is more of a ghost and Tobias fan than myself. It seems like Simon needs to learn to "Don't come knock the door, to the house of affection."
@desmondcruz-juarez88117 жыл бұрын
I feel like you guys are looking for simon's lines too much, there are quite a few cases of obvious jabs at Tobias, "Populist" is the only song i think is off the rails in that regard, but most of the other songs are obviously about other subjects. Simon aint mercury, and i doubt he wrote the bulk of the album, again, maybe a few songs including Popeulist (pun intended). Im speaking as a huge fan of ghost and a priest synthesizer- i mean sympathizer. Try to appreciate whats good from both of these decent, yet completely different bands. You could definitely argue that they(priest) are using a parodic element of ghosts elemental onstage facades, with a puppet master (an element implemented in the character of papa emeritus II portrayed by Mary Goore was to mock possess and almost puppet many of the nameless ghouls as they executed a solo written by Tobias) leading the band, but beyond that is just music, and the music is a completely different sound with a similar subject being secular corruption and possibly devilish malfeasance in religious society. \m/ enjoy the music that you like, guys. Not everything is about band drama.
