The plaintiff says three weeks after she started dating the defendant, she moved in with him. That’s when she realized he was a crack addict. She’s still in love with the defendant, and she wants to see him go to rehab. The plaintiff is suing him for wrecking her car. The defendant admits he’s been addicted to crack for 20 years. As a result, he’s been in and out of prison. He says he’s never been able to afford rehab but would like help to turn his life around.

My mother was crack addicted my whole life... I remember I used to sit and wait and she never came... I was scarred for a long time until I realized it had nothing to do with me... I've been able to helped her off and on...I made a promise that once she got on her feet I'd bless her... When i turned 25 she got herself together ... She got a place of her own and I furnished it and got her a car in my name.... I must say she wasn't a mom because of addiction but praise God my children have her and she's a amazing grandma and for that I'm healed and no longer affected by childhood trauma ‼️

I grew up in the inner city when crack first hit the scene. (Late 70's). We lived in the projects. I can remember seeing my friends and parents friends,go from looking healthy to looking like walking Zombies. I must have been about 13. It was scary seeing this happen before my eyes. Very scary. In school they offered classes on drugs. (Cocaine/crack) My parents had to sign. I remember hearing the teacher say "THE VERY FIRST TIME YOU USE CRACK,YOUR BRAIN INSTANTLY WOULD BECOME ADDICTED". That was scary also to me. Between those classes and my father being militant with us,I was too afraid to do anything. I was afraid of my dad. He was extremely strict. May have saved us from a world of misery. I wish this man healing and true peace. Freedom from addiction.

Move in with someone after 3 weeks and find that they're an addict 3 weeks later. Stays, falls in love and states, "I'm still in love". Take crack and the defendant out of the picture. The plaintiff needs help also. And there's no dispute about her being a nice woman.

I don’t understand why people are so dumb and rush to move in with someone thinking they know them after only dating for 3 weeks. Purely low intelligence.

This was all setup for him to get free help. When have y’all known a a person admitting he’s a crackhead, and won’t help as an introduction?? They used this law suit for him to receive free resources

Yep, but he needs that rehab. If it's free so be it. The issue is will he take the judge's help and do the rehab.

My biggest takeaway from this case is first you moved in with a man after just 2 weeks what's that all about then you found out he had a crack addiction I hope this young man gets some help I have family members who had a crack addiction they got their life back on track it's not easy but it is doable

I swear I am so tired of hearing men, esp BM using having a single mother as an excuse for their poor behavior. and life choices. They NEVER put any of the blame on the ABSENT father. They are ALWAYS angry with the parent who stuck around and did the best that they could given their circumstances. She worked too much, she was ALWAYS angry, blah, blah, blah!!!! I wonder WHY!!!

I hope that the defendant is serious about going to rehab, and not just trying to make a show he is wrong for driving her car, and wrecking her car acting if he doesn't owe her.
