I saw them live at the Oakland Coliseum “Day on the green” in 82, maybe 83. I was so in love with Mike Reno (lead singer Loverboy) that I had to get as close as possible to the stage just to see him up close in person. Let me add here that I was only 15yrs old. So imagine a teenage girl who’s OBSESSED with some guy in a band and you can be sure I got to the front row and center of 20,000 person crowd! (prime position!) I’m watching the concert DESPERATELY trying to get Mike Renos attention & well, I’ve already explained how obsessed and determined I was so you can bet your bottom dollar I got his attention 🙋♀️. It was during this song that all my arm waving and jumping up and down like a lunatic finally paid off and we made eye contact. I immediately scream “I love you, I love you!” he sees my teenage crush and desperation so walks straight to the front of the stage wher I am (he’s about 6ft above me and like 3ft between us with security) he then bends down on one knee, points directly into my face and sings the lines (and I’ll never forget this as it’s one of my favourite memories ever!) “just give me your hand, hold it out, close your eyes, move up close to me”. I could not believe it!! so how did I respond? No word of a lie, I fking fainted! I kid you not. I’d never fainted in my life before. It must have been soooo emotionally overwhelming for me because I truly believed I was in love with this singer lol. I think it’s such a cute and funny story of how deep a teenage girls crush can be. I’m nearly 55 now and I’ve only fainted 2 other times since then but for completely different reasons. Thanks for the best memories #loverboy

Love the intro - the synth followed by the drums and bass, the vocals and then the guitar kicking in.

Saw them this summer, they were great. Super fun geriatric rock show with Styx and REO Speedwagon. Brought the 80's back for me just like that.

I was a teenager in the 80's and played bass in a band with some friends. One had a keyboard, so our set was Duran Duran, Flock of Seagulls and LOVERBOY!!! We played a few other top 10's, but I LOVED THIS BAND!!! We practically played every song on Get Lucky. When the Purple Dogs played this song, we ruled Nashville!!!
