My dad owned a barbershop when I was growing up and even though I was usually the only female in the room, I always enjoyed to see my dad laughing as he chatted it up with the fellas and feeling all the love and joy and music that had been a part of our culture long before I had come along....I miss those days and long for them again! #greatmemories

My aunty used to play this for me all the time when I was a lil kid and I loved it. I called it “the barbershop song “ maybe last year I asked about it and she didn’t know what I was talking about I’m 24 next month and I just found this song today it really brightens my mood because I know I am loved by many. But mostly by God and myself 🥰

Man where are barbershops like this? I'm not trying to be racist or something, but it seems like only black older men in barbershops have this sort of charisma & feel to them. I don't know. I just sure do love how everybody gets along and just had a good time!
@FDSixtyNine9 жыл бұрын
In tight knit communities where I live, these barbershops tend to be back, away from the white populace. In places where the cities are bigger, like towards Atlanta, I'd assume on the outskirts of a historically black community. -Black guy

Lyrics: When I was a little boy And the Devil would call my name I'd say "now who do ... Who do you think you're fooling?" I'm a consecrated boy Singer in a Sunday choir My mama loves, she loves me She gets down on her knees and hugs me She loves me like a rock She rocks me like the rock of ages And she loves me When I was grown to be a man And the Devil would call my name I'd say "now who do . .. Who do you think you're fooling?" I'm a consummated man I can snatch a little purity My mama loves me, she loves me She gets down on her knees and hugs me She loves me like a rock She rocks me like the rock of ages And she loves me. If I was President And the Congress call my name I'd say "who do ... Who do you think you're fooling?" I've got the Presidential Seal I'm up on the Presidential Podium My mama loves me She loves me She gets down on her knees and hugs me And she loves me like a rock She rocks me like the rock of ages And she loves me She loves me, loves me, loves me, loves me
