In the 71 years, I have lived, I crammed so much of life experience together that I can honestly say I lived for three. I've traveled the world and seen what it had to offer . I Have an extensive bio .. that I shall not go into detail here as there are certain things one should not mention online. This film may be a warning to the unsuspecting online daters but I assure you that there is danger always around the corner for those that are naive.

Ms Clark's books keep me enthralled and I can't put them down until I'm finished. In the book the one guy( the first one in the movie) got all p.o.ed stormed out and stiffed her for the champagne. Later he came around and started bugging her because she wouldn't have anything to do with him. Back in the day 1954 BC( before computers) there were "lonely hearts" ads in various magazines. There were also some lonely hearts murders. Anyway one time - computer dating, some guy set up a date online - you are supposed to be 18 but these online people just take your word for it. Turns out the girl was a minor. He was arrested. Her family didn't want to press charges but he was prosecuted and convicted. Officially he was a sex offender and denied access to computers among other things. Moral of the story; personally check I.D.s before going any further. Anyway----------

Knew the killer from the beginning. Their voice and enunciation is very distinctive. It's funny how they talk of online dating as something for misfits or losers - "why do you need personal ads?" Was a different time I guess. Now online dating is more the norm rather than the exception.

I read most of MHC's books from mid80's to mid90's... Unbelievable that it's like 30yrs ago! My taste in literature has obvi evolved since, but even though some of this movie seems cheesy-- this profile could straight-up be on Mindhunter or Criminal Minds right now, present time 😬

Am usually right on the mark of the killer. But this one threw me for a while. The brother sure was suspicious and thought it was his voice. But always suspect the least likely! And lo and behold I do believe that's the Murdoch Mysteries detective! Great mystery.

Been awhile since I read the book but I would say that basically it pretty well followed her original plot. In the book there no computers just personals in the papers and magazines. her msg evn then was be careful of these dating sites.

Who made that rule that you must wait 48 hours to file a missing person report??? That must have been a serial killer as the person you can’t find would have been dead in less than 24 hours. Nobody goes to the police if it wasn’t real and no one call 911 unless it’s real. Who really wants to be missing?? dead??? kidnapped??? tortured?? abuse??? raped??? assaulted??? battered??? Nobody, even if they are suicidal or don’t like where they live, what they do or who they are with or see daily. COME ON !!!

If the parents got the boxes by mail, the the police need to go to the Post Office based on the mail stamp code. Somebody must have seen something suspicious. The guy lives in a neighbourhood and has neighbours. The killer parents must have some clue about their mentally ill son.
