Where did you find the oval loom?

They were discontinued. But you can find the 1/2" flexi looms through KB

In 3 yarn/light you'd need 400-625 yards; in worsted 4 yarn you'd need 375-550 yards and chunky size 5 you'd need from 350-500 yards. :)

Yes, but again, be sure you're using the right loom for the yarn you're using. Thicker yarn = larger gauge and thinner yarn = smaller gauge
