@tophatanimations4729 Жыл бұрын
Judging people is part of what makes life fun. Not because it’s useful, but just because it’s funny to see everyone’s attempt at bringing order within the chaos of life when it is an endless and impossible to accomplish task, until they finally give in and just accept where they are. It’s not nearly as fun to watch at that point, the struggle is what intrigues me.

Harsh judge is also useless if people want to encourage me to do something. How am I suppose to be driven in actions when I feel so stucked and suppressed? I actually very rarely saw people who would take harsh judge and go like "Oh wow I'm genuinely want to do more things now!" - they are exist, indeed, but it's easy enough to define when you encounter this type of person and when you encounter anyone else, so it's easy to think when to be harshly and when to not. I suspect that mostly when people judge someone/something harshly - they want to prove to themselves (at first) and to others that they way to think is valid and acceptable(except if they judge something that really makes sense and valid, like murder). So, when I hear this people and their rambling - I just sign and distract myself to something more important.

I don't know about quotes, but to INTJs and INFJs, I would say to not put too much stock in your simulations. It's great to have contingencies in place, but think back to how many times you were lying in bed the previous night, planning for all the different scenarios, when on the next day it actually played out completely differently. More often than not, I'm guessing. You can't stop a planner from planning, so go ahead, but try to have more confidence in your extroverted functions' abilities to improvise and get you out of trouble when the real moment arrives.

True enough. I used to be disappointed when nothing happened the way I thought it would in my head. At this point I use my tendency to simulate scenarios to see how I would react. From there I can gauge where I am and what I need to work on. That being said, there is a limit of how well this works. As a general rule, the more closely your thinking matches reality, the more likely ideas generated from that thinking will also coincide with reality. Your simulations are meaningless unless they are accurate. The best way to ensure your understanding of the real world is accurate is to go out and face it head on to see for yourself. And if you don't go out into the real world, what are you even planning for in the first place?

As an INFP, I think I resonate the most with the ENTP quote here, which can be spun in a lot of ways based on the kinds of phases I've been through in my life. There are years for exploring and nurturing yourself and years for putting yourself out there. There are years for figuring out life and years for living it full-force. There are years for reckoning with practical realities and years for dreams and creativity. There are years for retreating and healing and years to start fresh as a better version of yourself. There are years for surviving and years for thriving. None of this is meant to be completely black and white, I'm just talking in terms of relative emphasis. As for the INFP quote, that's a no-brainer for me! I've been stubbornly hopeful and optimistic even in the worst of times. But yeah, it's important for other INFPs to remember that. We especially need to be patient with ourselves, and with life, given how slowly our lives often progress and how many obstacles reality can present to achieving our dreams and ideals.

Completely agree with an ESTP one, and yes indeed helps thinking that way instead pushing yourself to plan and living you life like others do. I constantly remind myself that for me is the most efficient to live life at my terms (in the moment and constantly on the edge) and not on the others'. For me that's what works! If you don't tell it, the person will never know it. Tell to people you think to them, that you appreciate them, like them... We don't know what can happen tomorow. My advice for INTJ/INFJ : You can't figure out someone if you don't talk to this person. Stop to stalk on social media, you will know nothing about the person. People evolve and change all the time. Social media don't reflect the real person. In particular if it belongs to the past. Don't afraid to be weird, we are all the weird of someone else. We all do stupid things, mistakes, clumsy, awkward. Don't jump to conclusions. We are all differents, each relation is different. My advice for INFP, ESFJ : Think to yourself first, take time only for you, take rest, stop move everywhere for others, keep your money for you. Advice for all types : We are all differents, don't judge people on apearence and what you know. When you talk to someone you know, talk to them as if there were a stranger, a new person, as if you don't know them. To keep the respect, kindness and avoid judment : "I know who you are" Don't tell this, no one know who someone is really. We never know someone fully. Brilliant. The ISFJ one is the perfect description of my personal experience and not just the quote but the analysis too. Personally I never had dreams of what my life should be or success even if everyone praises me as talented. I never believed this will help me somehow. So my moto in life is "You never know what future will bring but do the best you can in what you are doing now." And somehow I have managed to be the number 1 scholar in my university from the day it first open, have worked successfully in theater and published books. (But don't get fooled, those don't pay much so I don't have the stability I need to feel safe and content. Another type would be really happy with those achievements but being practical doesn't let me enjoy them...) The point still stands though. As it's mentioned in the video, we don't expect achievement but we work hard so it comes anyway. Also funny enough, as a stage director and actress I have this quote as my policy in theater. Even if your role is small, you shouldn't grumble about not getting a bigger one but make this role-character shine and give them value with your acting.

Wow. The quotes for INFJ, ENTP, and INTP resonate to me so I wondered if mine would be any better. But you don’t disappoint. The INTJ one is great, albeit more ennui inducing than motivating. And no, it’s no use being more strident about our ‘forecasts’. The people of a generation are ready to accept what they’re ready to accept, no more. All you can do is try to find what the far horizon is for them, and prepare the paths to facilitate the best outcomes where you can, and wait for the world’s megatrends to prepare them to eventually take one or several of those paths. And yes, we usually don’t get vindicated. Someone who is behind us but just ahead of the masses will be recognised instead, because they would have the insight that we had just when the people are ready to understand what they say, but not too early that they ruin their image by being perceived as odd for saying weird things. People don’t like to remember they dissed the person who said crazy things, but who turned out to be right. People like to feel inspired by someone who said exactly the same thing, but timed for when they would perceive it as novel and exciting. So they’ll forget, or pretend they forget, they heard the concept first from you when it wasn’t in vogue, because then they’d have to admit they didn’t get it then. Or they might even blame you for being unable to make them get it, unlike this later person who could make them get it. Maybe this is why many of us just feed insight to more socially aware types; let them decide if the target audience is ready yet or not.

It's sometimes difficult for me (ENTJ-T) to stop and just breathe, relax and love the ones I have around me. But I've also learned that setbacks are going to happen, and learning about my personality has helped me approach setbacks from a MUCH healthier mindset. "We are more often frightened than hurt; and we suffer more from imagination than from reality." Séneca It is one of the phrases on the list of things to be aware of every day. As an INFJ the imagination and rumination is a double-edged sword, seeing so many possibilities and having the bad luck that the negative one comes true (1 out of 1000 that were created in the head) makes us suffer more for the repetition of the cycle of that imaginative process than for what actually happens...and adding fear which paralyzes. It also works against us when our imagination takes us to a supreme idealization beyond reality and this dissonance of idealization vs. reality makes us suffer. One of the hardest things to apply as an INFJ (at least personally) is to let yourself flow and let go... even the imaginary suffering and fear
@ConvenientlyShapedUsername2 жыл бұрын
That INFJ one is very good. I tell myself something along those lines when I'm having anxiety attacks. Often it has had to do with anxiety because of hunger and a fear of eating. Every single time it's always gotten better if I just. Eat. Just do it. "No matter how long it takes, you have to do it. It will get worse if you don't. It is not questionable; thinking will not solve this." It always works, even if it's taken a few tries sometimes. Here I am, alive.
@BiancamellaSays2 жыл бұрын
INTP here with anxiety problems, "Don't think, just do." Is actually a mantra of mine to get over that 'wall' that anxiety tends to throw in our faces. Because getting started is the hardest part, then once we're over the 'wall' we look back and we're like "...That really wasn't hard, why was I so scared?" And it takes time and dedication to bring that wall down and make it less of a climb. It's that thinking, the hyping up of emotions that really gets me worked up. And I have to realize I'm doing it and what's going to make it happen so I can be aware and nip it in the bud. Something helpful for me is actually separating my anxiety from my sense of self, like yeah my anxiety is part of me, but it's not ME. @@BiancamellaSays Yes, that's exactly what I say too! That entire reply is very relatable. I've gotten pretty good at keeping the anxiety away, along with medicine. Though it comes in 'waves'. Another thing I usually say/think to myself is that last time, it felt like it was the most horrible thing yet, but it felt like that every time and yet I still got through that. Every time I thought it would be the end of me, it wasn't. I do tend to uh sometimes maybe romanticize(not really but I can't think of a better word for it) it a lil bit when I daydream while listening to music, probably due to my enneagram 4, but that's just another way of coping. When having the attacks, in the moment, I only want it to stop. Anyway good luck to you, fellow anxiety-sufferer!

I do understand the "wall," mental block, paralysis, inertia, or fetters of inactivity, you might say, that you guys are talking about. But what I am curious about is why the fear of eating, specifically? I am interpreting your comment correctly, that you mean "hunger" and "eating" literally (not metaphorically)?
@ConvenientlyShapedUsername2 жыл бұрын
@@heatherbryant4197 Yep, I mean it literally. I have trauma related to eating so that’s why. -Though I’ve always had some kind of eating problem for every time period of my life for some unknown reason. Whenever one of them is solved, another one appears.- Whenever I’ve had anxious episodes it’s always the eating that’s affected. It’s very impractical, to have such difficulty with something that’s a very basic human need to survive x/
@heatherbryant41972 жыл бұрын
@@ConvenientlyShapedUsername I'm very sorry to hear that. When I first read your comment, I was thinking something along the lines of "maybe she has some sort of medical issue..." like a condition that causes pain or nausea or other symptoms after eating that would make you dread the experience even though you're hungry and know you need to eat. I have had different types of chronic pain that made me dread what would seem, to most people, to be very mundane, everyday tasks. Anticipatory pain is also a real phenomenon. So on some levels I can empathize, though I don't want to imply that I know exactly what you experience. Your issues sound more psychological in nature, so I don't want to pry and accidentally touch on any triggers. What I can say is that the blessing of such suffering is it teaches you to appreciate what most people take for granted. Being in a physical body sure is a pesky annoyance for some of us, but considering that we can't just check out and live in our heads permanently (yet! lol), regaining the ability to function after being "out of commission," for all intents and purposes, sure does give you a sense of triumph in the physical realm, and forces you to appreciate what you can do with your body while you still can. Anyway, I wish you the best of luck :)

ENFJ here. This video helped me have a realization about the Fi function. I've always struggled with Fi types thinking they were somewhat selfish with all their "true to themselves notions". It just now hit me that they are wired in a way that being true to themselves often IS the best way to act. Their superpower is seeing what needs to be done with the Fi filter. It's their unique navigation system, just as Fe is mine. If I saw the world through a lense of being "true to myself" it probably would be selfish because I'm not wired to sort through needs that way. But Fi is. Does this make sense? It's hard to explain, but it's a revolutionary thought for me!
@StrongestLibrafluidAlive2 жыл бұрын
I mean, as a Fi user myself, I definitely think unhealthy fellow Fi users will be more selfish than unhealthy Fe users. Think of it this way: neither of them are inherently selfish, but Fi is inherently self-centered/self-focused. And both Fe and Fi users can be selfish but Fi is way more likely to be visibly selfish, it's more likely that the Fi user themselves and the people around them will clearly perceive their selfishness for what it is because of both the true-to-themselves thing and the self-focus that is always present. selfish Fe users will still act focusing on others and being more adaptable which masks the selfishness and reduces it a little.
@samueldeel26962 жыл бұрын
Yes! Ironically, I’ve always found Fe on the other end to be in blatant ignorance of motives (actively wanting people’s approval and the validation internally of doing good things) and it’s always hit my Fi as fake. I’ve had to grow to learn that someone being natural at something or being made for it doesn’t make it lower for them to achieve something good with it. I have to watch that I don’t prioritize my motives over actually getting something good done - I.e. I don’t do good things if I feel like I want something in return, like doing nice things for a girl I like because I want her to like me back, etc.
@cathyhart39462 жыл бұрын
@@StrongestLibrafluidAlive Fe by it's very nature is others focused, so you are correct in saying that it appears more selfless. However, so often we tie our self worth into how people view us. So in the end, acting selflessly so others like us, is indeed selfish. 😂 I like what you said about the functions not being inherently selfish. They are neutral in themselves. It's how people use them that cause them to be good or bad. Truth be told, we are ALL self motivated to some degree. No denying that.
@cathyhart39462 жыл бұрын
@@samueldeel2696 Since understanding the functions, my Ni has reduced it down to this: Fe sees Fi as selfish Fi sees Fe as fake I agree that Fe can seem fake, but in our heads, that's not what's going on. Our identity is is so tied into how others perceive us that we naturally adapt our personality to fit the situation. This seems abhorrent to an Fi user, but it's how we are wired. And we Fe users can not imagine NOT bending to please others. It seems so selfish. But I'm learning that neither is (necessarily) better. It's all in our wiring and how we choose to act on it.

As an INFJ I have to admit that the Shia LaBeouf meme, the *"Just DO IT"* is a very motivational quote for me. Sometimes I repeat it in my head not to forget to simply act 😂. My own advice for fellow INFJs would be not to forget to search for and being interested in Science, concrete datas and facts. Otherwise, their argumentations will sound way less credible to others and you could even end up being wrong about your own analysis of the world an people. Concrete datas and facts will help people to believe what you already realise for yourself. In other words, feed and develop your Ti as much as possible and others won't be able to contest your Fe knowledge and observations and you will be more understood (I know INFJs already do most of the time but some tend to lack logic and factual datas from what I've seen. And it's useful to remind important things sometimes).

I intensely dislike the saying proffered for the INTP. Mostly because I'm super tired of pithy quotes that attempt to negate the essential meaning of a word in order to sound profound. This closely reminds me of the saying that goes something like "it's not about the destination, it's about the journey". On one hand, I kind of understand what they're trying to say, but on the other hand, all journeys are about destinations. It's basically just a bad metaphor, as is "One's destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things." Even if destination = new way of seeing things, destination is still a subset of "place", even if you're only speaking metaphorically.

ENTP - You can adopt an in-school mindset without formally being in school. I have done this exact thing over the last year or so learning musical instrument building with zero expectation of selling the object of the lesson. I’ve made some excellent, novel things already, like a killer baritone and an archtop that does not use a trapeze tailpiece. In a spare minute, see if you can find one without. It would be awesome and wonderful if you did.

INTP- A quote that I found moving enough to earn a spot on my revolving thoughcapade: “You’ll never plow a field by turning it over in your mind.”
@bananagomm2 жыл бұрын
Not necessarily an ENTP quote, but this is the quote that changed the way I live my life: "You’re floating in empty space in a universe that goes on forever. If you have to be here, at least be happy and enjoy the experience. You’re going to die anyway. Things are going to happen anyway. Why shouldn’t you be happy? You gain nothing by being bothered by life’s events. It doesn’t change the world; you just suffer." From "The Untethered Soul". Not a spiritual person, not at all, but this quote slaps me in the face every dang time whenever I get bothered by something (that is either in or out of my control). It reminds me to live in the moment, acknowledge the reality, instead of fueling the rage or engaging with the nagging voices in my head. This enables me to be more effective, efficient, practical, and solutions oriented, rather than dwelling on whatever is bothering me :)

"The perfect moment is this one". It's not about being to much in my head or overanalyzing. It's more about organisation and time management. If it comes to decision making, it's sometimes hard to tell the direction, because of all the opportunities and their outcome. When I spend time into something I know it is about investment and getting time back. That's behind this point of view. The timeframe and it's scenarios with every cons and pros. This makes me an optimizer of you, your business, your problem solvings, your learning style, your coping mechanisms, your neural framework etc... The only thing I can't optimize is me. But I grow with others and through them. For me... ...it is the hardest, but best in life. The only life I can live to feel alive.

Finally a channel that does not tell me to stop thinking ahead and preparing for the future. Just hearing someone say, “stay stringent…” is refreshing. It is very common for people not to listen to anything that is meant to stop future complications. It is also common for people to want people to stop thinking forward and only live in other persons timeline. I do hate human stop signs. If I am moving and thinking, then why stop me? Just leave me alone, my feelings would not be hurt.

“It is in your hands, to make a better world for all who live in it.” I am not sure if this is something one needs to hear since it can add to the pressure a person feels, yet also give direction to where one is headed and why. In a way, it seems like it does both things at once. Which can explain why certain types can be torn between taking action and wondering: what is the right thing? Is there even such thing that can be considered right? It’s like a whirlpool.

Heyy, thank you so very much for this video! I wanted to ask whether you could make a video about how different personality types effect eachother. For example: I am an INFJ and my father (who I am very close to) is an ESTJ. When I was younger I didnt really feel like I could talk to him about things that bother me because he simply wouldn't understand (he told me to stop worrying about things that might never happen...) However, as I grew older I started discussing things with him and I really came to love it. I feel like he is simply the logic in person and somehow I became much more realistic and also optimistic myself. But I also feel like our talks have had an effect on him as well. Now we often talk about abstract theories and their structures that simply amaze me and he came to like it as well even though it had no further use. I know that certain changes I recognise on myself can also be explained with becoming older (I moved out, started studying etc.) but still- without his way of thinking I wouldn't be the person I am now and this person is not the same INFJ that I used to be.
