Yeah, every genre (horror, romance, mystery, fantasy etc.) has certain formulas that most stories follow so once you know those formulas most endings are easy to predict. Honestly I don't mind a predictable ending if the story is enjoyable enough. What matters more is not the destination, but the journey.

I’m an INTJ, and I *_LOVE_* predicting the endings of movies & shows! They’re so formulaic (unless they’re indie & unique) that I’ve made it a game. I wiki the title to confirm whether my plot guesses were correct. 😆 My Sensor family members NEVER catch on to patterns of human behavior, so their eyes remain locked on the screen, and they think they need to listen to every word of dialogue to understand what’s going on. If I were them, I’d ask myself, “Why is Mo able to guess the story plot without ever watching the movie/show?” 🤔 I was in the room when my sister was watching Episode 2 of “Squid Game,” and only about 10- 15 min. into the show,,and not having watched the FIRST episode, I predicted the plot. For those of us who are interested in psychology and human nature (that’s all of us here on this channel, right?), the plodding storytelling style of mainstream shows is probably agonizingly painful. I find that the most exciting & fun predictions to make is whether people’s relationships will last, esp. if you don’t know them personally. It’s sad that people are so blind to themselves that they can’t even tell that their marriage will fail, even before it’s begun. 🙄

This makes a lot of sense. I've always been a very "logical" person and just always assumed Te and Ti both contributed to that. The idea of Ti being a basic natural skill for INTJs, and the fact that I was also taught how to think more than what to think, explains why I use the Ti function as well as I do.

At first I really doubted that you could find Fi in the INFJs because - at least to me - it's hard to be in tune with my own emotions. When I'm not with someone and using Fe, it almost feels like I don't _have_ emotions. Not like a void, but more like a quiet calm. But I understand what you mean with us having "values" and sticking to them, especially valuing authenticity. I can't speak for every INFJ, but for me, I notice that I probably *could* live without my own values, and I probably *could* live without authenticity; we are after all masterful "people understanders". But like you pointed out in a previous video, if an INFJ were to invite all their different friend groups - with whom they discuss very different things - to the same party, it might be hard for the INFJ to know how to act. So to avoid that situation happening, I've picked up values and principles that I stick to no matter who I'm with. So even if I were to invite all my different friend groups, they all have a somewhat unified understanding of what I'm like. Basically, This INFJ might not be stuck in my own deeply felt emotions a lot of the time, but I do have values and principles that I stick to, because I need to have _some_ values or principles. If I didn't have any values or principles, I would probably become like a bit of butter spread over too much bread; be stretched too thin, and just disappear into the background, not really being an individual.

Thank you for sharing your perspective I found this really insightful. As another Fe user I can definitely relate and I’m wondering if people sometimes do this thing where they pretend to have Fi as to fill in the void in certain social dynamics. I find that hanging out with other fe users (especially higher up), it can kinda get stuck with the “no u go ahead and have values, I’ll just follow along” so I have a very convincing enfp personal for these situations.

When you mention INFJ criticizing Fi in their head when observing it... stop reading my mind. On the contrary though, when my Fi is triggered I want to act (Se). Almost like Hulk Smash reaction tendencies, or Alice in Wonderland "I wish I hadn't cried so much" as she is being swept away in her own tears.

Actually, Ni is the fuction that I value the most. There's a lot of hidden beauty in it, and the analytical approach users of this function have. For me it's a joy to listen to INTJ and INFJ talk. I always felt like I was better at Ni, or felt happier using it, than with Ne. Maybe it's because I'm usually depressed, which leads to mental block. -INFP

As an INFJ, this really resonates with me. My Ni tends to jump out only with people I trust deeply, to others I am (mostly) a pretty amiable puff ball. I am also very adept at using my emotions to create something, mostly through the things I write. It almost feels like my Fi is locked away to most of the world and I have to find an exterior source through which to channel it in a careful, useful way that can be of some benefit to society (Fe). I also find myself drawn to people who show a lot of themselves (mostly in a one on one setting) and I love to support and encourage this, partially because it's a trait I envy somewhat. However, when I see this trait play out excessively in a group it can really grate on me as I can sense others in the group are getting overwhelmed or disinterested yet the Ni just keeps coming and coming. I can tend to feel annoyed with myself for being 'judgemental' when I feel this way so I'm happy to learn it's not just me!!

Interesting comment! INTP here and always starved for deep discussions. Now, there are lots of (self proclaimed) INFJ at work whom I’d like to go deep with, but I find them quite reserved; hesitant to share much from their inner depths. And it seems they find my directness and poorer social antennas off-putting.

That makes a lot of sense! As an ENFJ, I like to play in the abstract but usually only when you can bring ideas to an end or pin them for future investigation. I work with a lead Ne type and he’s been called out on excitedly generating ideas but never actually pursuing any.

This explains so much. As enfp sometimes I felt like an Ne dom but Fe secondary, which didn’t make sense. But the eye rolling comment is key here. I respect enfjs but feel like I can do Fe just as well but roll my eyes at it. It’s just a flavour to add to what I do rather than the ends. Thanks !!

This is brilliant. I'm INTJ but cognitive tests keep giving me a high Ti score too. Ti is only a tool I use from time to time to fill in the holes, it's not part of my identity like Ni is. This also explains why I feel so fond of the INTP type. I've always thought of it like some sort of convergent evolution of INTJ: completely different underneath yet so similar. It makes more sense now since INTJ can be good at Ti and INTP at Ni.

Really interesting and accurate. I was mistyped as an enfp for a long while and people around me telling it was true becuase I was "funny" and "showed emotions". But studying my functions and digging deeper made me realize I'm just really good at using Ne and that "emotions" I show through acheivements and my plans working out -and I wasn't conscious about- is me showing my passion and happiness and I can not fit into the enfp box because of that! I'm just in touch with what I want and I have a lot of xnfx friends so I know how to treat them-and myself whenever I feel down-but I can't really be them. What makes me happy is a very good analytical discussion and foresight of what to come in any cases. I do not match the Ni vision; I deeply understand it and whenever I had an interaction with a lot of high Ni users I was deeply feeling what they were saying and could really see where it comes from. I was also raised in a different family and had a difficult life; though I never lost what I wanted to be and who I am and will be(I was also considered as a smart kid back then) and that's why I have differences with others of my type... like come on people; not every one of us is an Andrew Tate. -from a 3w4 female Entj

Hey this was really accurate! My ENFJ mom and I (ENTJ) are definitely super creative people, and in very practical sense as that- ever since I can remember we were involved in some sort of creative and handiwork, be that sewing, knitting or furniture restoration and house renovations. We indeed are always brimming with ideas about new projects and we are both very focused on how something can be improved, aesthetically and functionally. In our case it is pretty conscious and I would even say integral part of our identity, although I always thought that pursuing career in art would be completely silly (I ate my words ofc as ENTJs often do lol).

yeah that’s true for intj. i can always see when a process breaks somewhere, why, and what change would fix it. makes me exceptionally good at reviewing risk management processes, scientific reports, and legislation in my field of expertise. i just see the parts that don’t ‘flow’ right away. i also can sense when the whole doesn’t ‘hang together’ and so need further scrutiny why. i can work out from a broken process or legislatiom etc what it was probably meant to be designed to do, and so if maybe it could be fixed rather than scrapped. i only know this is amazing because colleagues look at me like i walked on water when i do it in real time. otherwise wouldn’t even know it’s normally a difficult thing.

As an infj, I think morality is important.With Fi as a critical/demonstrative function I do not prefer it or can be too perfectionist about it to express it.But fe and fi go hand in hand, like for me Fe=desire for positive vibes/harmony and Fi=feeling of guilt and desire to be better(hence my personal values).I actually need both😅...If I find meaning in a moral value(using Ni) and find it reasonable/logical (using Ti) and I will also value Fi❤

I know someone who is an ENFP. She can read the room really, really well! Her high intuition makes you think she can read your mind at any given moment. When you're not aware of it, it's okay, but when you are, it's uncomfortable. However, she makes sure you feel comfortable around her and puts you at ease. Inspite of her high intuition, there are days she doubts and mistrusts her own intuition. This baffles me sometimes.

Hmm that's an interesting approach. My demonstrative function would be Ti. I always devalued math and theoretical physics in comparison to engineering and experimental physics. I like theories to be cross-checked by reality. And used to be dismissive of mathematicians and philosophers. While at the same type being proud of my logical prowess 😅 Taking second function and inverting i/e is useful shortcut. But approach that 3 first functions combined give the effect is better explanation of how that works.

As an Fi dom with an INFJ family member, I have often wondered about why their Fe-side seemed so Fi-like! Or how they could relate to or understand Fi so well. It was obvious to both of us they are an INFJ, so that made me wonder a lot about if the difference in the extroverted and introverted expression of the functions even made any sense in the first place :P It has always seemed weird to me that a person is supposed to be bad at the opposite expression of a function that is high in their function stack.

I probably do use Ti more than I think I do, but can't readily think of any scenarios where I have used it. I play a lot of detective games which might require me to use deductive thinking with Ti and Ne, but this does not come nearly as naturally to me compared to when I use Ni and Te in strategy RPGs. I feel like I'd definitely need to understand the Ti function more to be able to recall examples that I have used it.

Thank you for putting a name/face to something I've observed. I hypothesize that this hidden ability manifests because in order to use a function well, you have to reasonably use its opposite-facing function. For example, an externalized system or process (Te) is shit if it's not logically consistent (Ti). Fi, meanwhile, is socially off-putting as hell if one doesn't have a reasonable use of Fe, and this fact can make it more difficult to use Fi if not considered. The same goes for all of the cognitive functions. Sidebar: a really good, albeit fictional, example of the ESFP/ENFP hidden talent is in movie The Hunger Games. Several times before the games we see Peeta instinctively understand how to Fe, then we see him sitting alone only for him to talk about how he doesn't want the gamemakers to change him (Fi). It's clear, therefore, that he values Fi, but he can turn on the Fe charm when needed.

Really creative insight in regards to Peeta in the Hunger Games. You're absolutely right about how he clearly uses Fe because he has to do so to survive, whilst clearly valuing Fi far more. Also, I would say your hypothesis about why a demonstrative function acts as a hidden talent makes perfect logical sense. I'm an INFJ and thus an Fe user, but I use Fi quite a lot and have always been very skilled with using it even as I don't necessarily like the broadest and most extreme expressions of it (like in the case of my INFP best friend, who has a tendency to be quite selfish at points when it comes to trying to live "authentically", doing things like moving to another country despite being warned by multiple people repeatedly that he would not be able to fit into that country's culture and being reminded that there is value in having a place to truly call one's "home", or choosing to pursue a career in agriculture and horticulture because that is his new random obsession despite having just completed a MA of Biostatistics from a prestigious university only 3 years ago when he could use his graduate degree to make the world a better place if he just learned to tolerate working a normal job like most of us are forced to do). In addition, the concept of the demonstrative function makes perfect sense when I think about my best friend's relationship to Ni despite his being an Ne-user, in that he happens to be exceptionally good at brainstorming as one would expect for an Ne-user with an exceptionally high-IQ (he scored a 159 on the WAIS-IV), but he also makes extremely accurate predictions across a broad range of scenarios at the same time as he absolutely hates planning (which both Ni-dom types do automatically), instead being a particularly extreme example of someone who makes decisions based on impulse. Sorry for the long rant. I guess I was just frustrated with my best friend when I started thinking about him and it turned into a bit of a diatribe.

What I have noticed is people confusing Fi with authenticity. And it is. But in terms of feelings. To be able to correctly type and understand yourself and others, people need to learn to distinguish between authenticity in terms of feelings vs someone searching for autonomy and having absolutely no problem standing their ground. Until everyone that shows interest in MBTI or more importantly - cognitive functions understands this, people will continue mismatching information and end up with cognitive dissonance as a result.

My mom is an ESFJ and my best friend is an ESTJ. They are the two most physically observant people I know (although to be fair, I am not close to any Se dominants). It would seem bizarre to not give either of these people a role for Se in their stack, given that, to quote The Princess Bride, they "could track a falcon on a cloudy day." BTW Prince Humperdink was definitely an INTJ, and I'm pretty sure he could not.

Well, despite being an INTJ, I didn't quite get the logic of respective explanation. So, according to Natan, we, integees, are good at and natural in criticising, and (in the earlier videos, IIRIR) he said that integes are naturally inclined towards systemising. And here Natan says, that developing the criticism into a full-scale consistent system is something INTJ don't like and do mostly in demonstrative or extremal situations. How does it work? I feel like if a person is good at logic and is able to logically connect points into a line, then it would be comfortable and usual for them, rather than demostrative or emergency.

I'm told that for an ENFP, Ne and Fi combined can simulate Fe. I suppose the same can be said about Se Fi combination.

Jesus, yes! That's the thing, I mostly use Ti to dismantle another's logic or system that isn't actually sound, but not really to build systems myself. I just... I connect the dots... 😏

As an ENFP , I have often used my skills to ease conflict situations, e.g. between passengers on public transport. But I quickly analyze the situation and assess whether people are so blind with anger that any interference would only make the person more choleric. I then make comments that ridicule the aggression itself, but are never condescending, always in a friendly tone. In most cases I am successful and people calm down. It always amazes me how many people want to put others in their place with authority, and the wrong tone of voice only provokes the aggressor even more.

Well, (another comment of mine after the 1st one), from time to time thinking about it, as an ISTJ, the function Ti means to me as a critic function. Since "critic function" manifest in different types in the way of "criticize", it means 4 conscious cognitive functions in our stack are the functions we used in real time, to tackle reality in front of us. The "critic function" - 6th function is the function that works in the later time when we contemplate/watching ourselves in that past reality to "criticize" ourselves, to point out the thought patterns, conscious and subconscious thinking and real-time actions are right or wrong, suitable or not, logical linear with our value or not (Ti critic), and point out how there're more different ways to manifest that idea into reality (Ne critic), ... So i think though I'm not having Ti as a conscious function that i can use well like the Ti users, mainly all of ideas are implemented in real life by Te in a fast forward way, I still use Ti in a way that criticize my thought patterns if they're not linear with my set values, Buddhism philosophy and lifestyle (Fi), to make changes for better being. Also I use both Te and Ti to test my own understanding in technical learning and work, and question whether this idea presented to me has any spot i'm not very clear about.

My theory is that the demonstrative presents latent or potential energy. Too much potential energy becames stagnant. In order to keep the flow it is diverged into the auxiliary function. Just like water becames stale when there's no flow. So the individual is forced to keep always that flow but sometimes there are also moments of stagnancy which can be charactized by the need to use this function. I would even add that this is the true auxiliary but it is skipped in favor of the shadow auxiliary.

Esse vídeo veio na melhor hora possível. De uns tempos pra cá, tenho notado umas tendências TI na minha forma de pensar, elas são recorrentes e nunca cheguei a ir muito longe nas funções shadow. Começei a questionar muito meu tipo por isso, mas meu SI é tão óbvio e minha FE tão baixa que ISTP ou ISFJ não encaixavam. No fim, acho que só sou um ISTJ que valoriza um pouco mais TI que a média, afinal, cresci com um ISTP, é natural imaginar que fui mais forçado a usar TI.

Basically yeah. It’s quite easy for me to see the internal mechanisms of an argument, but many of them get so caught up in making a neat little package that they neglect all real application. I like breaking these constructs down and revealing their reductivism.

The critic function can often be a huge struggle for many of us. As an INTP I so often see others being irresponsible with their wants and desires that negatively impacts their future (Ne) that I don't want to be irresponsible with my own (Ni) and so I often talk myself out of wanting things that may even be good for me. Being too self-sacrificing in that way is not a good thing. Alternatively, once I've thought through things deep enough that I am sure of my wants, then having someone try to talk me out of it can be infuriating. This is why I feel that most advertising and sales folks do not know how to deal with INTPs who've made up our minds.
