Flew out of Minstrel Island in the early 80's for "Minstrel Air". At that time, the Carder family owned that building that you reference as you went by. It has certainly changed a lot since then!!! Flew all around that area for several years... thanks for bringing back some great memories.

I used to work in that area. We went into Beware Passage and found a pictograph on a rock wall with a pretty clear image of an old sailing ship.

Beautiful! We cruised your gorgeous islands for 20+ years in our Nordic Tug so it was a nostalgic trip with you two today. Just out of curiosity, what kind of o/b do you have on your dinghy? It really overpowers the audio of your beautiful videos.

Very nicely done! I have to admit, I'm a bit envious and wish I still had my boat. But one had to go and the RV won.... at least for now.

Incredible views. We got a taste of that beauty on our Alaskan cruise a number of years ago. Ray, was your Trawler a fishing boat in its previous life or always a pleasure boat?
@LoveYourRV5 ай бұрын
it was build as an economical recreational cruising boat back in the 70s at a shipyard in Taiwan. Thousands under different names were built and many still out there.

Hey Ray, I've watched you for a few years. Ouch, to your thumb. You and Anne are runnin a tight ship.

Funny thing is it doesn't hurt, must have hit it with a hammer when getting the boat ready but can't remember any major pain.

8:33 I consider myself pretty knowledgeable on the types of boats that are out there but I've never seen that one before. It looks like a ocean crosser.

Does the low tides affect the water level very much in the inlets?
@LoveYourRV5 ай бұрын
Yes, the difference between high and low can be as much as 18 feet here.

What is the app for the nautical charts?
@LoveYourRV5 ай бұрын
We use Navionics webapp.navionics.com/#boating@6&key=gppaHvxuiV and Aquamap www.aquamap.app/ both have iPhone and Android apps. You have to pay for the charts of the area you are in.
