Love everything, especially the fan which I usually carry in my handbag. Guests would love them and possibly some of the art workshops could create their own paper and build a fan.

The sign is so great! Instantly recognizable and well branded. (your fellow chateau owners may wish to place orders for similar signs someday.) I know that you host several local art events, and your sign reminded me of one that used to take place near our former home. It was a kind of art nature walk, for school age children (ages ~8 - 12.) One stop (or station) had instructions to draw a certain tree in the style of X artist or style with an example shown in a frame similar to yours. One stop or station had string and some twigs and pinecones and clay and you could make a little sculpture on a square of cardboard to take home. a few other stops had large cheap empty artsy frames framing the actual object to be drawn (one of these framed a chair ) (e.g. flower, boulders, and the most popular was at the end of the route had gnomes in a tree stump. The gnomes had some apple cores - STOLEN from the basket of apples staged early in the walk as a still life opportunity.) Each child was given an inexpensive small art pad and brought their pencils and crayons or markers from school. There were no rules, except you had to stop at at least half of the 7-8 stations. Then the students enjoyed apples of their own and returned to their schools to discuss their experiences as artists. The work was not graded, there were no awards - just art, outside, and for fun. I know you have a conveinient group of school age kids nearby, and wanted to mention this low-key art idea. A chance for kids to see themselves as true artists, and to know that they can aspire to show their art as adults someday in your exhibits at the chateau. Your "front lawn" where you just took down the big trees would be ideal - shady, sort of enclosed, room to stretch out, a few blankets to sit and do art. Or if you felt braver, open more of the grounds. Your mown paths are magical. Just an idea. :)

Another thought: the nicest abanicos come in fabric pouches. I had one made in some leftover lace that always draws complements. Sara could easily make those. Especially in a culture that is not used to carrying fans, finding a case would be difficult and the ones you find are not pretty.

That's a great idea! I’ll have to talk to Sara about that one.

OMG what an awesome machine to expand your creativity Steve. It looks like so much fun - I would totally get into that! I have cricut machines to make paper art which I used for my classrooms in the preschool I owned. It was basically the same concept but only for paper and fabrics. I really love the items you have been creating and how cool it is you can put in your own concepts and designs. Truly a machine worth having for your specific needs.

❤❤❤I love the fan idea. It's an original branding piece. Once you've got it all figured out, you can oil before engraving to boost the contrast or oil after the engraving to lower it. You can even try a wax paste after it's been engraved. It'll help with staining from the oils of the hand.❤❤❤

There is a language of the fan from Victorian times that might be amusing to include with the fan. The width open in example you were given is standard. Yours might be a little narrow. Your. Design is killer though.

Just a suggestion for the Fans, instead of paper use silk. you can silk screen the design of your choice then attach the the wood arms of the fan. it reduces the bulk and the function willl improve greatly
