Thanks again for sharing this historical place… apparently this century earlier villarges accomplished so much without question. Communities at this time relied on these huge castles and the communities to support. I believe many kindled their options no matter what your status. Killing me on where to place the art and wondering you are sucking me into this. Hate to say it but it’s rather enjoyable watching your decisions… ty

Quite honestly, I would restore one of the other buildings, and make that into an art studio and gallery. And then I would restore the diningroom back to look more "Chateau" again. I would maybe talk to the wallpaper company, that did the breakfast room 😊

Have a good event 🤞🏻😊 I thought it would have been more dynamic had you had that black and white artwork offset to the right and the yellow artwork next to it on the left lined up on their horizon line above the sideboard. They would work really well together with the wall and woodwork colors. 😊 unsolicited two cents. It’s a shame the wallpaper sucks the life out artwork in the great hall, it makes it difficult for you to place art. Maybe one day a least you can pull it and paint. 😊😊😊
@ManorandMaker5 ай бұрын
I always appreciate your two cents Tony (even if just emojis). I take you point, and raise you "where would the large tapestry go?". Yes, we're looking forward to updating that wallpaper, it does grab a lot of the light too right now.

Try hanging solid colored fabrics over the busy wallpaper, and place the art so there’s a good amount of solid color framing it. I would have the fabric go from the ceiling all the way to the floor, with a strip of wallpaper in between, maybe …

Way back in 1990, we visited the worlds biggest caves which are in central Borneo & are all inside limestone cliffs. Called MULU caves & were only discovered by the non native people/tourists a decade before. One of them was high enough to fly a hot air ballon inside (which a French expedition had done in reality) Another is long enough to fit SIX jumbo jets inside one behind the other. The sense of awe is hard to describe. But my point is these limestone caves were carved by water not humans. I should imagine that was how the wonderful church/reliquary started before humans discovered it & developed it for their own use??
@ManorandMaker4 ай бұрын
Wha??? that is crazy... mind boggles... Yes, I wouldnt be surprised if it was a cave first. There are lots of caves here. It's not too far from Lascaux....
