Great video. I tried flying this jet cause I just unlocked it last week. I found that it gets really hard to maneuver/handle at 300-400 kph. Lots of tips I can take from this video. I started watching your older war thunder content, and I enjoy that, too.

The timing at 10:22 on the bandit appearing, and you saying "And that is what has happened", is kinda cool. Great video! You really put that Cougar to work. Doubt I'll ever be able to achieve such a high skill level, but these clips let me dream of such a possibility.

Losing a lift element on the right would induce right roll, as theres asymmetric lift with more on the left, pushing the left wing up and right wing down

My logic was that it probably doesn’t add much in the way of lift unless it’s deflected, but not having one there would create drag, then the weight of the remaining one would induce roll to that side. But now you say that you’re probably right. I’m trying to remember how it works in DCS for comparison’s sake

WarThunder has this annoying desync issue where people pulling positive G appear to be in pure or lag pursuit rather than lead, and then their shots appear to fire above their nose like they’re angled up 30° DCS doesn’t have the same issue and I got used to it, so I forgot to account for it in WarThunder

Cougar with a top speed of 1045 kph is much faster than Ki-200 ( 963 kph) so you can get him on your tail at a safe distance and then drag him into your side of the map Either Ki runs out of fuel or he breaks off and gives you his 6, then you harass him until he's dead Yes it is very methodical and boring but when flying planes with no real performance advantage such tactics are necessary

Yeah, it's how I replenish my SL lol, the videos just never do well so I've stopped bothering to record them. WarThunder has sort of become my ground combat game where I've swapped the air side for DCS, for the most part - but I have been dabbling again, thinking of looking at the Swift F.7 at some point, and I was flying the Viper and German MiG-19S the other day for quite a while, just didn't record any of it. Tbh WarThunder in general isn't doing as well on the channel, but I don't want to abandon it because the damage modelling and effects make it kinda more rewarding to get kills... Plus I'm trapped by the sunk-cost fallacy lol. I'm trying to get the ground attack variant of the US Viper atm to attempt top tier CAS in ground sim again, actually managed an ace in the A-10 the other day but died - debating whether or not to make a video out of it.

@@Bullet4MyEnemy ok, yes i can remember a year ago or so you already said in a comment that tank videos don‘t get much views, then it is of course understandable to not upload them. I watched a few videos on top tier cas with the f16a, where mamy people said it was quite hard right now because of the pantsir and other good spaa‘s. Additionally, tanks now only render when you are closer than 4km to them. When your are grinding sl, which br and vehicles do you play? I guess Premium tanks a lot for the sl bonus?

@@maxstohr1540 I like the 7.0-9.0 sort of area, not necessarily premiums - been flying the Vampire, Venom, F3D for CAS quite a lot in the sim events, mostly playing the M48/60, Chieftain, trust Conq and Cents on the ground.

@@Bullet4MyEnemy yup that‘s a nice BR. I consider to buy the Leo A1A1 L44 to grind the German Top Tier. I know it is kinda pay to win, especially because it is on of the rare tanks that has therman gunner sights in it‘s sim bracket, but then again that is why i hope it will be a decent grinder.

@@Bullet4MyEnemy also now that they finally added the new BR brackets many planes are flyable again...like my beloved mirage IIIE... also the mig23m, the various mig21, the crusaders and early phantoms will all be flyable again!

The F9F-8 should actually have an all flying tail like the other sabres but in game it isn't modeled as such and locks up pretty bad at high speed. 11:48 so true, it's like .3 higher than the Sea Venom but it's 100 kts faster, much better mobility, much better ER, much better roll, turn, guns, etc etc etc. So stupid.

A lot of stuff should have an all flying tail, the Javelin is the first thing that comes to mind for me - I don't think the absence of it necessarily limits its performance in game though, the model could look like a duck and still fly like a jet. Look at that Vautour they added with the SARH missiles, that has an actually modelled all flying tail but still pulls like weapon's grade arse, just the same as the other ones.

Literally the only reason anyone flies this is because of the 4 Aim-9B. Then they find out how useless the 9B are and immediately stop using it lol

How do you recognize the enemies properly? And also when pulling up, this thing loves to bank sideways and stall/spin.

If you’re getting wing stalls you’re pulling way too hard, energy is life and turning bleeds it off, got to manage the rate of turn to keep the speed where you need it. As for IDing targets, I’ve made a video on it called “Tired of Teamkilling?” There are some energy management tips in there as well.

Nah they source real world figures for everything they can, there’s the odd thing here and there’s that’s a product of guesswork for the sake of nation balance, but otherwise it’s not too bad at all. There are 3 modes, arcade which boosts performance massively and gives you mid air reloads, realistic which is basically arcade but with realistic performance and no mid air reloads - both those modes use a mouse aim flight system where you basically point the mouse to tell the plane where to go - then there’s sim mode which is what I’m playing in this video, where joysticks and head tracking are fairly standard and you’re locked to the cockpit view.
