Low Back Pain: Where is the Pain Generator?

In the past, nerve root involvement was thought to be the primary cause of low back pain especially with radiation. New findings illustrate the complexity of wiring that includes connections to structures that in the past had not been recognized. Involvement of the autonomic nervous system for deep spine pain are clearer with some interesting indicators of a "hole" in innervation to the lower lumbar disks.
