Flying something small like this indoors, be sure to turn Air Mode off. When you bump into ALL THE THINGS indoors, Air Mode reacts too abruptly and will actually cause you to crash more.

What's air mode?
@PortalFPV
@PortalFPV 2 жыл бұрын
@@SylvieTheBagel It's a feature in BetaFlight that helps give authority when at zero throttle. Something small that's flown indoors, you don't spend much time if any at zero throttle. When you bump into something, instead of it being just a glancing blow it reacts severely by ramping up the motors trying to correct itself, usually resulting in a crash. But outdoors, you should always have it on.

Bought this 2 months ago based on your recommendation and i’m blown away! I had never flown fpv and this is one of the best ways if not the best way to get into fpv. I’ve crashed my th3 so many times and only about a week ago, some cracks started to show and i’ve got an extra frame for just 12 bucks lying around. Already got the TH 2 Freestyle for outdoors and its nice how it all works with the radio and display of the th 3 rtf kit. Thanks a lot for your great work!

I jumped into the FPV hobby about 6-7 weeks ago. I went into it with a TinyHawk II. My computer is on the verge of being "not good enough" for sims, but I did download a sim, and after only about 5-6 hours on the sim, I was flying in acro mode reasonably well. The TinyHawk kit's been awesome for me. The TinyHawk III looks better too, so I am tempted to get one. The only thing I changed when I got my TinyHawk II, was that I bought a better transmitter (after about a month). That helped me quite a bit, but the stock controllers are OK for someone who's new to it all. This newer controller looks better than the one supplied in the TinyHawk II, so you may not even need to get something better initially. Shame about the DVR issues. Cheers for the review.

1. Try CurryKitten sim, go into settings, set resolution to lower, and you'll get 300+ FPS. 2. Try the TH 2 Freestyle. Powerful, stupidly, and works great. Or, get a 6s BabyHawk. It does about 70 MPH, and is super fun and powerful, while still being usable.

I bought this last week, and they have updated the kit a bit, addressing some of your concerns. There is now a micro manual attached to the goggles and a leaflet that folds out with some basic info about the kit. The radio/ controller also has stickers now, which I find very helpful. Great review. The set would be a little better value if it came with at least a couple of batteries for beginners, but 1s batteries are cheap. Its just going to be kinda a bummer for someone new and excited to get this kit and figure out they can only fly for short time before having to stop and charge instead of being able to change a battery and keep going.

@MattPochwat Жыл бұрын
It just depends on your priorities and how much time you can practice in a simulator. The Tinyhawk freestyle is more agile but does not have any protection. With enough time in the simulator first it’s definitely possible to start off with the TH Freestyle. If you don’t have the ability to practice in a sim, then having the propeller guards on the tiny hawk 3 will be very helpful. You can also fly the TH3 inside.

From my understanding which is limited, the ham license is for transmitting video specifically. But it's cheap, and kinda easy to pass. There's a free practice test you can take over and over which is the same exact questions that the tests are made from, so it's not that big of a deal if your serious about the hobby. Not worth doing it with out license, fines are hefty!

Next attempt was the 3.5mm sim connector, which I can not get to calibrate properly as it does not recognize the throttle channel at all. I was curious @Matt if you have any guidance or pointers? This RTF kit is better than the TinyGo?? What about the the remotes are they both able to link with others drones?? I’m looking forward to get a RTF kit this Christmas but I’m undecided between this tinyhawk and the tinygo. A video comparing both sides by side will be perfec!.
