Right on. My doctor. Seeing him in Jan. What will be his topic in Feb? His work on how fat intake affects insulin resistant people, in my opinion is one of the biggests things to come along in low carb. I am putting it into practice with the carnivore diet. I naturally eat less fat and almost no dairy. Many positive things happen on carnivore. Just got first labs on carnivore. A1C keto 5.6 carnivore 5.1 (2 mos) Fasting glucose keto 102 carnivore 84 Triglyceride keto 140 carnivore 74 Uric acid keto 7s and 8s carnivore 5.1 Testosterone up from 407 to 496.

Reinforced my decision to suspend my use of rapatha due to an unexplained increase in my fasting blood glucose. Long term very low carb and regular exerciser. Fasting blood glucose increased from being in the 90s to always being over 100 with average being 110-115. I'm open to the cause being something other than the Rapatha but I'm going to start by eliminating it first.

Latest labs with roughly low-carb/carnivore, intermittent fasting as a 56-year-old female: Fasting lipid panel: triglyceride 57, cholesterol 283, HDL 100, LDL 172, fasting glucose 94. Still need to lose 20 pounds and plan to do some extended fasting to get to goal weight. No help from doc unfortunately. Bracing myself for an annual exam visit coming next week where I’ll no doubt be pressured to take statins. This visit is required for insurance purposes; otherwise I wouldn’t be going. The woman I’m seeing is a doctor of osteopathy. Hope that bodes better than allopathic.

Fantastic session. And not too nerdy. Regular people MUST learn the nerdy stuff because our health and lives depend upon it.

Talk about a misnomer... Nadir (as defined) is supposed to be a low point! Dr Ali and I are of a like mind, and he is such a pleasure hearing him speak.

Does the risk from repatha reduce if you are already fasting and following a Keto diet. Fasted insulin 10.7. Inflammatory markers are rock bottom. But ct angio showed severe new blockages and prior quadruple bypass all are blocked as well. ZERO symptoms. Been dairy free keto for many years. Active daily. 48 year old south Asian male that had a heart attack with quad bypass surgery at age 39.

That's quite the cardiac adventure for someone so young. Based on the mechanism's Dr. Ali discussed your diet make sense to further reduce risk of liver toxicity. I wonder if you've developed collateral circulation? Wishing you the best.

@@JeffryGerberMD we are seeing dr Ali this week. My husband has been his patient in the past and i am currently his patient. I actually met you at low carb houston in 2018 while you were getting coffee:) Thank you for the kind words and response. We believe he has developed collaterals and are hoping to get a PET scan soon. Also, you mention dr nasir...we have an appt scheduled with him this week as well.. wish us luck that between all these cardiologists that believe in the low carb lifestyle, my husband will be able to keep up his level of activity for many years to come....

@@Snapkrackpophi..How has repatha helped ..the blocks seem to be actively happening. Dr.N Ali spoke 4 years earlier that inflammation and Insulin resistance may what's promoting damage to the arterial endothelial and LDL may be the fireman atbthecsire of ' burning' damaged areas in the arteries. He has not cited studies to prove the point. All traditional cardiologists push LDL.lowering drugs..like rosuvaststin plus ezetemibe 10 mg which I am on..or if one can afford 500 Follars every 2 weeks for Repatha, that's better. I refused Repatha..have aches all over on statins. I stopped Rosuvastatin ..yet I know the hearts not ok as it pains on and off agdcI take sorbitrate when it does. I woukd appreciate any advise you may get from.an enlightened cardiologist. My CAC score was zero in 2019, 1.85 in 2021..no calcium deposits but lots of unstable plaque in coronary arteries.
