okay everyone who is freaking out in the comments saying that this isn't actually healthy needs to relax...there are so many different ways to sustain a healthy diet and body; everyone has to find what works for them. and the nutritional sciences are ever expanding- we didn't know half of what we know now ten years ago and our knowledge is constantly changing and being updated. dietetics is like that, as are most of the sciences. our knowledge is super incomplete and nutrition is meant to be applied to individual bodies; it's not a science where one opinion of what's healthy and what's not is going to be completely true and applicable for every SINGLE body. just saying.

the raw marinara sauce is so freaking delicious! so so gooood! tip: if you don't have a mandolin, julienne (slice super thin) the squash to resemble spaghetti and blanch quickly in boiling water (bring water to boil, drop squash in water and flash cook for a few seconds just to soften and achieve a pasta consistency). I then cooked the turkey as patties in the oven (about 15 min.) and ate it all like spaghetti! great recipe!

Its a mandolin and you can pick one up at Walmart for $10-14 and it adjusts slicing sizes she held her knife terribly they should of taught her how to hold a knife in those cooking classes she took
@cakemix10111 жыл бұрын
The tool that she tried to use is called a Japanese mandolin usually they come smaller, it has a thickness setting either on the side or the underside you can adjust it by looking at where it cuts at eyesight the white handle (holding the squash) isn't needed but it helps if your worried about cutting yourself, its extremely sharp but it winds up saving tons of time. :)

I love that the same people who want to lose weight and want to eat healthier are the same people asking Cassie "Can I replace this with this? Even if it increases the carbs?" Like girl, no. She made this specific recipe to help you. You want to add more fat, that's all you boo but you might as well eat the regular meal.
@Sinikkastudio8 жыл бұрын
she is promoting eating disorder..
@sebastianlugo57817 жыл бұрын
Naomi Bojorquez She promotes cutting out refined carbs, she believes in getting your carbs through lots of fruits and vegetables. And they aren't called fat because they aren't fat, fats actually have scientific meaning outside of foods. I won't say anything about dairy since I personally think it's kind of unsettling (I have this with all milks, even almond milk, I have no idea why. Unless it's in something, I won't eat it) but as for meat, it's simply the fact that most people overeat with it. Back around the 1890's in America, the FDA sent out the ORIGINAL diet plan and it had far less meat and dairy than the current one (my memory is foggy, but I believe they suggested only one or two servings or dairy and about two servings of protein) but when dairy and livestock farmers had cuts in profits, the government eventually gave in and upped the amounts to get people to eat more again. I attempted vegetarianism several times, twice under the watchful eye of a dietitian, but my body rejects most proteins and I ended up very sick every time. I do hope that one day I'll be able to do it, but some of us physically can't do it. As for the cholesterol, our body doesn't really work that way. Consuming regular saturated fats don't actually hurt you (what most of those studies actually found was that replacing them with unsaturated fats lowered the chances for heart disease, saturated fats don't cause it) and it's really trans fats that are super dangerous. I would really like to know your stance on the artificial meat they're creating, it makes it so nothing dies and it IS meat. They get it through extracting a small blood sample (no different than you or I getting a blood test) and the animal is perfectly fine after a little pinch. For your stance on cancer, that is not all meat. PROCESSED meats and primarily red meats have been called probable carcinogens (unlike say tobacco which is just a carcinogen, as the meat is still questionable but there is no question about smoking) such as bacon, hot dogs, steak, lunch meat, ect. because of the amount of chemicals and additives in those things. As for Cassey's ground turkey breast, there have been no links to cancer. In fact, eating a good piece of fish may even reduce the chances of cancer.
@SandyBeach76511 жыл бұрын
You're right they are good for you, in moderation. Carbs are the easiest form of energy for the body but it is also the easiest for the body to store as fat if you are not careful with your intake. Also this is clean eats where you are eating more fruits and veggies (all natural). Whole grain breads and stuff are processed however she's used oatmeal on previous videos which are considered carbs. On top of that she's also trying to make it friendly for gluten free, vegan and other diets. :)

O_O incredible! You americans don't even understand how lucky you are, money wise. That meal would cost me at least 8euros... wich is more than 10 dollars. The food is general is soooo expensive here in italy that it's unbelievable XD
@bonniespencer74510 жыл бұрын
You obviously don't live in america. Because she's not adding up how much it is to get the products. She's adding up how much money it is for the small amounts she's putting in it. All meat in america is over 6.00$ a pound. And that's the meant with GMOs. The organic meat is twice that. Everything In america is expensive now adays. It's why there are more fat people than skinny people. Because the bad food is all you can afford most of the time.

I made these last night and they were awesome! I didn't make the raw sauce, because I had canned tomato sauce to use up (and if I'm honest, dates in a tomato sauce sound super gross). I had filling left over when I ran out of zucchini strips, so I cooked the extra filling in a frying pan with a couple drops of oil until the meat was cooked, then added the tomato sauce and cooked it a bit more. It made a super sexy sauce that tasted amazing. I'm definitely going to make it again.

This is awesome and I love these videos!
@ericbedwell10 жыл бұрын
oh boy, where to start... I guess the biggest issue here is that ravioli is just that: RAVIOLI! Squash shavings are not, and have never been ravioli. I get the low carb thing; heck, I've been on that diet for the better part of the last 15 years of my life. HOWEVER I've never understood this whole "substitution" thing. No matter how hard you try, you'll never get squash to taste like pasta. Yeah, that's just not happening. Don't get me wrong; I love what this girl has done here, I just entirely disagree with the entire idea of it. If you're doing the low carb thing, you don't eat pasta. Period. Instead of wasting your time trying to make pasta out of squash, allow yourself a small cheat meal of pasta once in a great while. That should be much more enjoyable than a recipe such as this. I've been on this diet the better part of my life, and I can tell you from experience that all of these recipes that are supposed to simulate pasta using vegetables NEVER EVER EVEN COME CLOSE to the real thing. Just use good sense and stick to your diet plan. I've allowed myself a cheat meal here and there for birthdays, holidays, etc... and I've done this for 10 years and held off the weight. Squash ravioli? Gimme a break.

The reason you got such a thick slice with your madeline is because the contraption with prawns on it that you poked into the zucchini was actually leaving too much room between the zucchini and the blade, (cutting it in half also made it too thick). But when you use the zucchini WHOLE (not cut in half), it will give you thinner ribbons! Give it a go-- enjoy!

Do not pull single leaves from the basil plant because then the stem is going to get woody and no leaves will grow on it anymore. I made that mistake and had no long time with my basil plant ;) Instead one should harvest a whole stem, starting one inch above the first pair of leaves growing on the lower end of the stem. The plant can compensate this loss and soon a new stem will grow up and carry lots of new leaves. Hope that was helpfull and greetings from germany. Thumps up so she can see!
