About Josh Turner Guitar
Josh began making KZbin videos in 2007. Ranging from popular to esoteric, local to far flung, and playful to serious, Josh’s videos offer a little something for everyone. Josh also performs regularly with long-time collaborator, Carson McKee, as the folk duo The Other Favorites. Josh’s first full-length solo album, As Good A Place As Any, was released in April 2019.

You two obviously met when you were much younger. (I saw your English essay song lol). You have a connection with each other that can only be formed when young minds are friends from a young age - like so many other duos from Rock and Roll history. Never take it for granted. It's easy to forget when game gets a whole of you - always stick together in your music endeavors - do not let money get in the way of your magic together. It's beautiful and such a joy to listen to your talent! Cheers 😊

To me..... these guys are like two pieces of a wonderfully crafted wooden jigsaw... each piece with its own beautiful flowing lines and shapes and colours of the wood grain... each a work of art in its own right. Then you put them together and the edges and curves interlock perfectly.... and the picture becomes complete.

THAT WAS JAMMIMG? JAMMING? Are you a mental patient or are you smoking something? That was PRACTICED, see, PRACTICED. These guys don't JAM, they PRACTICE, they are CHEATS. Pretending to JAM but actually they have PRACTICED to perfection. They are CHEATING their way to fame and fortune by CHEATING.
@musiccylinderK6
@musiccylinderK6 4 жыл бұрын
@@jackrainbow560 I don't know what your problem is, but you should have it checked. Why so angry and salty? It's very clear this is not improvisation, they never claimed it is: this track has a title, lyrics, full music composition. Xode called it jamming, and while that may not be the best term to use, it doesn't warrant a spiteful attack from you, and it certainly is no reason to bash Josh and Carson. Since when is practice cheating? Why would they be pretending to jam? Where the hell does your claim of them trying to achieve fame by cheating (??) come from? They are recording a song in a living room because, oh I don't know, there's a pandemic, people are staying at home, they don't have a full recording studio with a sound technician next to their living room, because they simply want to and they enjoy sharing their music with the rest of the people. What's so crazy and conspirationist about all of this? On the off-chance you were trying to be funny, you might want to work on your (written) formulation and delivery

Highly doubtful. For one, these guys (and all of their friends) are great at karaoke versions of other peoples songs, yet in the case of the song they're doing here, it sounds very close to another tune called Tree Boy. Secondly, Paul Simon is one of the greatest living songwriters of the past 50 years, and along with Art Garfunkel, crafted some of the most gorgeous harmonies the world has ever known. Does 'Bridge Over Troubled Waters' ring a bell? Does anything that Josh Turner has written even come close?

Here are the lyrics supplied by Carson for anyone interested in learning this great song: I stood so long in the low country I was swallowed by a hollow tree May the moss grow thick, my roots grow deep May summer make the best of me Oh, take the sap from the shoot Like I asked you to do Carve your name in the shade 'neath the fruit Sapling in the valley steep What bounty from you can we reap Kindling for the mantlepiece Switches cut for softened knees Chorus When you were young and thought like me You would walk in the low country In fertile ground, a fallow seed Blossoming among the weeds Chorus

@alertami
@alertami 2 жыл бұрын
@@lw216316 I think you could look at it a couple of different ways, as I did earlier when I had the lyrics totally messed up, but I would say it's mostly just a well thought out image of a man merging with nature. And the mellow melody and sweet harmonies really let it blossom nicely. Did you have anything else in mind?
@dfighternelams6387
@dfighternelams6387 2 жыл бұрын
@@alertami to add to your comments I think this type of writing is written for exactly these reasons, up for debate! I write in the same vein, although my songs are spiritual I write so that they mean one thing to one person and something else to another. In short, songs like this that use metaphors to tie things together, that’s only my opinion. Like I said it’s up for debate
