I did something similar in one recent town. In the central 7×7 squares I zoned 3x3 commercial in the corners and did a "cross" between them. Visually beautiful and people loved the walkability 😁

I've copied it as the centrepiece of my latest Vanilla save. I added a 10 square block on the far side of the railway station and placed the City Hall unique building, police station, fire house, and a Cemetary. makes a nice town centre for my starting town. Keep up the good work.

Mate these videos are a godsend for new players. Super relaxing, encouraging, no playing to the audience or shouty, clap-your-hands 'smash that like button' typical KZbinr fuckery. I'm finding this game so meditative, but also still at the stage I'm struggling to keep all the mechanics in mind. Also, do I want the straight sim challenge of vanilla gameplay, or super-modded, sandbox experience, where I basically landscape myself a giant phallic zigurat and the novelty inevitably wears off. So many iffs and whatnots...

Really with this design you wouldn't want to expand it any bigger other than surrounding it on all sides with residential, this is meant to be a low density area of your map. However, I can certainly do a modular build video on a downtown center and how you would expand out from it, if that would be helpful?

Hi, first I wanna thank you for all your Cities : Skyline tutorials, they really helped me to start, but I still have a big issue : schools. So I hope someone can help me, because I didn't fine anything on the internet so far. Here's my problem : If I want all the road to be green, I actually have to place, literally, at least 5 elementary shcools in a small district, and same for the hight school. Is that normal ? I mean I have more than 30 schools in my town, not really realistic. Can Someone help me please ? Thanks.
