You bring up several good points, and things I've thought about. I'm approaching that phase of my life where I'll have everything I want, no debt (own my house outright),work that I truly enjoy, plenty of money. etc. I've wondered, once I get there, what then? And I believe that answer comes down to: people/relationships. I don't want to wake up one day having everything I could ever possibly have wanted, only to be alone. So, in my process of "getting there" I'm trying to be intentional about cultivating the relationships I want to carry with me into the future. I've also taken a minimalist approach to family/friends and walked away from unhealthy or toxic people, which has freed me up to focus on the ones where the relationship is enjoyable, and mutually beneficial.

Great video. I love the simplicity of your retirement math. Yes, a house and kids are expensive, but if that's what makes you happy, its worth it even if it means that you won't retire early. The problem I see is that we have been sold on a lie that makes sure you take on as much debt and pay as many taxes as possible. " Get a good education (i.e post secondary), get a good paying job (i.e. employee with no tax benefits), get married, buy a house and have kids.".....means that you will start your career with student debt, pay the hightest marginal tax rates, take on more debt to buy a house, more debt to buy cars to schuffle the kids to sports etc., take on more debt to fund their education, and push the Western dream of consuming more than you need, etc. There is a reason the middle class is in debt and broke . I have been working a second job, reducing my expenses and living simplier in order to fund my retirement. It feels better to get rid of "stuff" than it does buying more. I really feel for the younger people today caught in the rat race. While salaries are stagnant, education, housing, cars, utilities and the cost of living in general has gone up substantially, reducing purchasing power. The folks buying homes over asking right now that are up 40%+ from 2 years ago scare me.

Hey not a bot when talking about crypto, but if you really want to buy an alt coin, Ethereum and the side chains splintering off of it to allow scalability are the way to go. Etheruem backs all the side chains in terms of network security, the side chains allow for more transactions with much lower fees, like 100x-200x lower fees to transact with more integration of current projects being done each day. So those side chains are polygon, cardano, bsc, plokadot. Polygon specificially seems very promising and can be bought on coinbase and most other major exchanges still very cheap if they even come through with a fraction of what's promised. Might be worth reading the white papers on some and investing a bit. Dogecoin does nothing and is just a meme.

My purpose in life is to create wonderful things as much as I can and bring joy to as many people as I can because I'm an artist. I look up to people like Stan Lee because he created so much that brought so much joy to the world and really gave all that he had to offer before he died. That's kinda like what I want to do. Have you thought about who your role models are? Maybe that'd help? You really helped me a lot. You're a really smart guy, much smarter than me lol, I'm sure you can really benefit the world and make a real impact, if you decide to. Think about who your role models are! that always helps me get direction in my life

I would agree that more recently, there seems to be much more click bait videos that don’t promise what the title says.

When price goes straight up like crypto does take some off the table. A bird in hand. As for wanting things I say a better question is what do you want to do, not want but do. We do things. We are not storage boxes to fill up with stuff. Humans are doers.

You don't need to save for all the years you retire though. You only need to save 10 years to sustain your lifestyle and let interest do the rest.

usually people want to have enough wealth to be stable and to be charitable. that's usually how people get fulfilled after getting everything they want. they derive joy from watching others get what they need.

Crypto is the new tulipmania - there is zero intrinsic value there once the penny drops so will the price
@BeatTheBush3 жыл бұрын
Probably, but if you catch it early on, you can earn a lot without risking much.

Ahm, no it is much more than tulipmania, blockchain is a very amazing technology, people just don't know enough about it to understand how big this will be in the coming years and most people just invest because of hype and fomo... and the perfect example is Dogecoin for this.

you're just a dodo bird if you don't know about the future and blockchain technology . Some cryptos will be going to MOON .It's a slam dunk.

I could never have put even a $1000 on dogecoin, having the bravery to put 53k is nuts, and I would have sold at 100% return, to hold for 2000% return is discipline but also a expectation that cant be real, that's like playing the lottery level of luck for that to happen. Maybe I really don't understand the new world of the stock market we are in.

I did call it a moon shot when I initially invested. Enough must be invested to matter. But the way it's looking now, it seems plausible rather than improbable to hit $1 this year.
