Not really playing ranked until my friend’s able to get his pc. I did play a couple games as warlock and noticed the difficulty in bronze if you aren’t dps. I think if you switch to dps only, you’ll make it out. then have fun doing whatever suits the team afterwards.

I solo queue almost exclusively and I've been on the edge of Diamond 1 and Grandmaster 3 for a while now. I dip into grandmaster and back down again consistently and a lot of that is because of completely inept teammates. I am consistently queued with throwers and whiney babies who give up too easy. If their main or 1 trick is banned pre game they throw. 0 willingness to cooperate with the team trying to work together. When spoken to they mindlessly stare at the spawn door and ignore everyone. If their 1 trick is failing or ineffective they do not counter pick or change strategies. They give up and vote to surrender. Its nuts. Its like if the enemy team resists in any way its over for these players. I attribute at least half my losses to these players, that's how frequently I find them. When I lose, its usually because 1 teammate got frustrated, swapped to Black Widow and just started messing around, feed or they stink with their failing hero pick. Its Ego. 100% Ego.

This is just primarily due to the fact that probably 60-70% of the playerbase are in plat and gold. That is usually where the average player ends up meaning there is a lot of pure skill variance in those ranks people that are consistently good will eventually climb out of these ranks to diamond and master because they can consistently perform well on various heroes. People that are hard stuck plat or gold can display games of brilliance, but almost the same frequency of low performance to mid performance for those ranks

I get what you’re saying, but at least for me as a DPS/Support I don’t believe I have many bad games, it’s just more of a matter of regardless of how much damage I do or do my job (which usually is trying to disrupt and force a peel in the backline to create an avenue for my team to push up) they just dont have the IQ to do that, or just knowing when to pop ult or when to pull back to the next choke on convoy if you’re in a disadvantageous spot. This is my first hero shooter and I picked it up in 3 weeks and I dont understand how you can’t at least have common sense to not do things like stagger in comp I feel like the games I try the hardest to give my team something to work with are the ones where I end up like 6-9 😂 and some are just a 26-2 cakewalk

Dude in plat I had a game as luna support with 50k healing and 10k damage after 2 rounds. My dps couldnt hurt a fly and my tanks were zooming 1v6 into the enemy team at mach fuck dying on repeat and screaming for more heals. Some games are just beyond winnable but thankfully that was the only game I lost from plat to diamond.

as a currently hardstuck gm player, the fastest way atm to get out of all the ranks below diamond is to just always lock hawkeye or hela, with this you can maximize the amount of kills you can get without having to heavily rely on teammates.

Honestly valid, when I first tried to rank up support in Overwatch I got placed in silver, figured I'd climb out easy cuz my main role at the time was Diamond/Masters. Silver was a struggle, cuz it felt like I was playing a different game from everyone else. "I don't think I can win with proper tactics if my teams playing improperly." Sometimes in lower ranks knowing correct plays/positioning/rotations etc... won't do much for you. Luckily I ran through Bronze to Diamond no problem with like a 70%+ win rate, but lord Diamond felt like 50/50 every game. Either I'm rolling or getting rolled, with almost no in between. My history in D3 was literally W/L/W/L/ repeating lol didn't matter how well I did, how much I contested, how much pressure, how many picks, how little deaths, etc... the results were always the same.

Nice video! I definitely felt a bit of resistance climbing up and out of plat, much slower than from silver and gold. I believe in plat was the only time that I ended up down ranked ratings at the end of my session I played. Felt pretty frustrated playing 5 dps 1 support. Must have lost many games to people not swapping. Tbf it isn’t over if you don’t have a 2-2-2 team comp, just makes the game more difficult. Plat is the rank in which most people develop an ego. They get off from gold and instantly believe they are better than they actually are, their mechanics havent really changed and their game sense still the same. However plat is the rank in which people start to get humbled HARD They got away with so much silly stuff in silver and gold and never really get punished for it. So when they get punished for still playing like their in silver they cant fathom the idea of their strat no longer working and instead of adapting the blame everything but themselves. The people that make it to diamond are players who consistently make good choices and adapted to the new elo. While hardstuck plat players are just throwing themselves agaisnt the wall trying the same thing over and over again and lashing out when it doesnt work

Mid to high plat and then again mid to high diamond were elo hell for me. As someone who solo queued all but my last two Gm rank up games, I experienced what everyone else was saying. You either snowball or get snowballed. Half the time it’s not even a skill difference but a communication and coordination difference. That last game I had to win to get Gm was peak ranked tho. I have been trying to take accountability because I’m by far not the greatest player. However, I was trying to just get in Gold out of silver 1 last night and I went 1 draw and 3 losses and got SVP every match. I know getting SVP doesn’t automatically mean you were actually the best, stats don’t tell the whole story. BUT I can say a major downfall of our teams were people unwilling to switch to get a more favorable comp matchup. I was trying to fill the vanguard/strategist roles because they didn’t want to but you can’t hard carry with a support (unless it’s cloak rn shes crazy) I know I’m a portion of the problem but let me tell you I was TWEAKING last night.

Idk if you know this or not but you get performances based points when ranking. In the lower elos you get minus 15-20 for a loss depending on your performance and 20-35 for a win depending on performance. You can lose more games than you win and still get out of low elo depending on your performance

i got to gold last season in the last 2 days for tthe moonknight skin with a 80% win rate, in the new season i have played 8 games and won only 2, the shit people do in bronze is crazy

I solo Qd through platinum only losing 3 games, but spent at least 2 hours stuck in gold 1, purely because in gold my teammates would not cooperate.

1. This is why I play panther 2. When I lose a ranked game, I go to quick play and win a game there or get into a rhythm before returning to ranked 3. I have efficient with at least 1 character from each class. I am a lord panther (and nearly lord moonknight), centurion strange, and captain with rocket and Jeff. 4. Low elo players tend to group up a ton. I will abuse moonknight if they do 5. If the spread out and know what they are doing then I go panther and abuse again

I played S0 ranked in the last week because it was when i realised tgere was a skin Reward, i only played Venom and managed to get to gold pretty fast but went on to see where i would finish, i manage to hit Diamond in like 5 days but i fell off to Plat in the last day because i had like 4 or 5 losses in a row, and you guessed it, Plat players ruining my game, i had a thrower, a quitter, a bad one trick pony, one dude i dont he even intentionally quit that was probably a unfortunate disconnect, but still, these people man...

My friend said it is impossible to get out of bronze servers for him so I made an alt account to play comp on (I'm plat 1 btw) and when I was in bronze servers. Nearly EVERYONE is terrible at the game. I've seen stuff like a Jeff shooting his heals at the enemies, starlord going 1-11, and the worst possible things you can see.

I learned this while playing I got to grandmaster 2. When your in grandmaster the lobbies only feel hard if you don’t belong there. What I mean by that is if you’re boosted or a one trick you can feel completely outclassed which makes it harder. In lower ranks like bronze or silver it’s hard because your playing against a Smurf or no one truly knows how to do their job effectively and everyone is running around with their head cut off. However in middle ranks theirs so much ego,Bad synergies no team play one tricks ect. It’s hard asf because you either get fucked or your doing the fucking and that’s gold and plat in a nutshell I’m glad I got out there when I did.

Solo queueing in low elo is actual hell. If the Moon Knight skin had never existed, I would've never played more than a second game of ranked. I used to be a tank main back in OW but because of how bad low elo healers are, I was forced to become a support main. I guess the only good thing that came from low elo is how I'm now enjoying playing Mantis.

Played bp only until diamond 3 then had to switch to magneto until gm cause most of the games you just have mostly dps players. tbh you just have to be adaptable cause solo carrying from diamond onwards is very hard

Whenever I have one good game in ranked, matchmaking decides to punish me with an extra punisher and spiderman after there are already 3 other dps locked in.

For me, the hardest rank to deal with was diamond, cause the character locks ended up screwing over my teammates from time to time.

In season 0 I got to diamond play solo and was really like normal. Every game I was doing my job andmy team was doing theirs. But now in season 1 the games are dog shit, im having a really bad time trying to get ouf of plat. I can stomp one game (I only play tanks and supports) and in the next one my healers have less than 7000 healing at the end of the game and the dps with no kills are yelling to the supports lol Edit: Also if you are playing in an alt account complaining about people not knowing how to play the game, maybe is because they shouldnt be playing against or with a GM to beging with. You are also the problem my boy

I've made several accounts and on average it takes 6 hours for me to get from brand new to diamond 2 lol However, takes me a while to break into GM as it seems all the players with a harmful ego get stuck in Diamond 2. Diamond 2 had a lot of players who think they've learned everything they can and stop trying to self-improve. I stop noticing this once I hit GM 3 where Diamond 2 isn't as common and get filtered out, so I'd make the argument of Diamond 2 being the more difficult of Season 0 to get out of. I can only assume that since those players are so close to GM, they must already be in GM skill and end up having that blind them with ego battles and trashtalking their teammates. At that rank, they should understand providing proper feedback and informative suggestions are the way to go rather than flame your team of things they may not be aware of. Players just get too full of themselves.

Pretty much the same for all games and sports tbh. Being "good" on a high level means you are good against "good" players where coordination and strategies exist. In low Elo games it's mostly them doing stupid things over and over again that are out of your calculations. Being able to consistently beat bad players is a skill many often overlook Take fencing/HEMA for example. Beginners will do very risky things and attack into lines that you thought you had closed by presenting another threat that they just didn’t even see. It’s pretty common to get double hits in HEMA vs beginners because they’ll just go ham.
