It's #MoMonday!
Mo sure loves a Low Flare Layout, here's a quick refresher course on what a low flare layout is and what it does (or in this case doesn't do) to a lane pattern as you bowl.
Get ready for 2020, it's going to be jam packed full of technology and education!

This has been a game-changer for me. Scott Pohl in Eagan Minnesota introduced me to the low flare layout and it has helped my game tremendously. Any place I go I have one in my bag. In fact I'll be seeing Brian Kennedy my PSO of choice here in Maumelle Arkansas at Bowl 101 for a new one this week. Low flare layouts with the right surface are the way to go. If you haven't tried one do it you will not be disappointed.

As a Full Roller with zero tilt, low flare layouts are critical to effective ball motion and hit.

Thoughts on no flare layouts vs low flare. I have a bowler who uses a low diff ball with the pin on his track on fresh, low ball speed, high rev rate. The debate was affected carry down.

I learned how to bowl when I was young back in the late 70's and early/middle 80's...picking up bowling again and with the new technology it appears all the tricks and corrections I used back then are terrible now. What would your advice be for me now? My frustration gets me to the point I use speed to just get down the middle of the lane and to keep from leaving pins on the left side. Lanes do not break down like they use to.

Best advice I got from a pro shop-" most people buy a ball that hooks to much" most people play on a typical house shot and usually its a light to medium light oil pattern. I say talk to your local pro shop. My go to arsenal for league is as follows from strongest to weak is- radical Intel, Brunswick igniter pearl, Brunswick rhino, Brunswick twist,followed by the storm mix for a spare ball.
@chriskelly509

Majority of the older folks on my league use the rhino with very good success. Pair it with a plastic ball for spares.

I took 12 year's off and came back last year, I over hook everything. I can't even throw a twist....until I got into the short pins and changed my release.

In the A-B-C Zone Pin to PAP Video, you call the Pin to PAP Distance from 2,5 - 3,5 No Mans Land and the 0,75 - 2,5 the low flare Layout........in THIS Video, you seem to have changed your mind. Why is that ?
@joshmay9467
@joshmay9467 4 жыл бұрын
Moe did not contradict himself when talking about pin distances. The low flare zone is the 3/4" to 2.5" and the High flare zone is 3.5 and up from there. Your "No man's Land" is that area from 2.5" to 3.5" 3/4" to 2.5" LF and 3.5 and Up HF

Ok i watched the Video again and i found the Point that was confusing me.......when he wrote down the 3/4 Pin Distance, it visiolised in my Head as an 3 1/4 Pin Distance......now this Video makes sense to me. Its basicly almost the same, as in the A-B_C Zone Video. So it was a false Statement from my Side.

Would you recommend this for the house shot where there is already enough friction in the track area?
@markbishop9743
@markbishop9743 4 жыл бұрын
Yes with the right surface I've been able to play the most aggressive ball Radical has ever made and stay right of everybody else the key is finding a pro shop that knows how to lay it out correctly and that takes the time to learn your game and figure out what works for you. Check with Brian at Bowl 101

@@markbishop9743 My assumption is this would retain energy longer for less total hook but plenty of energy at the pin deck.

Yes, I was struggling badly on our house shot here by game 2 or 3. When I have to move so far inside and the carry went away.. if you get alot of friction but get over/under if you move in. This layout helps a ton. Actually been throwing my method solid with a low flare most of the night. Since I don"t have to move much with it paired to with a high flare layout I was using.
