I got tank crews on sale and was feeding my cat his favorite diet of T34s then this mosis appeared. Not fun. These things are the scariest thing a tiger can see. This game is getting too realistic and I love it.

As a Tiger commander who spent 40 minutes hiding below tree covers and running from tree to tree only to have my tracks shut up by a mosqi cannon and then it was all over, I can assure you you will get what you want. Tank commanders will call for CAP but even if those high flying 109s grace us peasants with their presence the mosqi is so fast they won't be able to catch it easily. I haven't flown it myself but I can guarantee it's the most effective CAS I encountered.

@@ahadpezeshkpoor1042 Yep, you need advance warning like Radar to successfully intercept a Mossie....even a 262 has trouble otherwise. Although as 109 lover, WHERE'S MY GOD DAMN G-10 777 Studios? We either have the non-competitive G-6 (no AS) or the powerful, but unwieldly K-4. And that in limited numbers. In mid to late 1944 the G-6, even the G-6 late is just not competitive.

@@LupusAries 100% agree with you. But here is the catch. Axis is SUPPOSED to be weaker in late war set ups. I play on the Finnish server and early on no one likes to play allies. But in the late war this changes completely. Allies outnumber the axis because they are at a disadvantage and most don't like to play as the underdog. I think it's super realistic and immersive. I myself only fly 190s in the late war and just go in super fast dump my payload and hurry back. Others keep trying to dogfight. I think we need the air marshal to sort things out. An air marshal can coordinate his team. Mosqis can be defeated if there is early warning from the ground units and Armor has AAA escort and CAP in reserve. If everyone keep trying to chase p51s at 7000m or dogfight Spitfires in an old 109, Axis has no chance. Teamwork is a must for the weaker side.

For a low-alt attack like the first one: Do you fly in at a higher altitude for nav and then drop down as you get within range of the target? Or, do you fly low the whole time?

@@SheriffsSimShack My grandad's nextdoor neighbour when I was a kid flew the Mossie in WW2 and some of his stories he related to me of his exploits were pretty awesome. "Once you'd flown the Mossie, you didn't want to fly anything else!" was his opinion of this aircraft.

Am I the only one that finds the distinct lack of flak and AAA response in IL2 unrealistic! In reality these positions were manned 24/7 and would not be siting on there hands while several mosquitos were strafing them and the town! I've dl a mod to make it more accurate to balance it out, even when I leed an enemy over my homefield to get taken out by my flak positions they take so long to start engagement I may as well not bothered

Do you know if you can hide from aaa by using trees etc? Or do the see through them and fire at you any way if you are in range?

@@thurbine2411 You can avoid the AAA by flying low its a good tactic for coming on a strafing attack whether or not the game engine sees you through the tree line I've not tried it I paly mostly high level intercepts in the 109.. that said IL2 is pretty good with it's AI and mechanics I'm not in anyway bagging on the games mechanics as a whole just the weak AAA and Flak. You look at any footage from high level bombers and read any books from first hand accounts both bomber crew and fighter interceptors and they all talk about Flak being like a carpet, and unavoidable to fly through, there were two types of flak moving and stationary, meaning one would e fired just ahead of the formation and move with it and the other would carpet a specific area and sty there so the bombers had to fly through it. The german fighter pilots would talk about flak as being only good for directing them towards the bombers and they were the ones to bring them down were, alied crews feared the flak.. Sadly that doesn't seem to be the case in IL2, it's much better modelled in DCS warbirds!

@@esxboi6765 yep the Germans had some different tactics. I mostly know of the tactics when defending cities and factories etc but I wonder how the light and medium flak operated on the eastern front vs il2 and pe2s

I don't know the exact stats, but the mosquito is not gonna be as fast or maneuverable as a single engine fighter. 109s and 190s can outrun and out climb it.

Depending in loadout the mossy can be faster than the g14 and radial Fw 190s.

25lbs with open exhaust modification its as fast as DB engined 109K4, so faster then any other german fighter. Down low its fast, up high slow.
