The wind blew the water out of the bay and the tide was much lower than predicted. It quickly became apparent that I had some time to kill, so for those that asked, here's a look inside my tackle box.

You hit it with the statement "simple but effective". Too many think they need way too much...keep it simple and have fun.

Great video work. Been watching you for a while now, and your are doing an incredible job in your labor of love. Thanks man for letting us in on your take of kayak fishing!

I have never fly fished before but it is enjoyable to watch, like seeing someone play a musical instrument. (I can't play a note) But give it enough time and I bet I will try it!

I've watched just about all of your videos and I've learned a great deal of info thanks for sharing. But this video I'd have to say you have more things on that kayak than I've seen in any other vid....

They're in there with my regular bait hooks. Mustad makes a bait keeper hook with a little spring that digs into the soft plastic. I like those best.

man, you saved that little ray's life. good looking out marty. also, your gear storage system is absolutely revolutionary. pretty soon hobie is gonna be mass producing a kontiki line of kayaks
@effyoo60819 жыл бұрын
Noticing all the red on your gear. Red yak, red bags, etc. my first kayak was( and is, still have it) red when I got it. Some years later, it's pink as a ladies private parts, and the way the seat is designed, it looks very much like those very parts. So much that I bought a new one rather than be ridiculed.I live in west palm beach and the sun is brutal. Apparently, so are my friends. Tight lines

Great as usual. I find the more simple u keep your tackle the better I do. Just get good using a fr We basic baits
@aceburns867311 жыл бұрын
I was thinking, it's funny how you have only the most basic of gear. No GPS, No depth finder. A home made fishing rig and only a hand full of tackle. Yet you catch more fish than 99% of the schmoes out there. Way to go. BTW nice touch saving the ray which we know you hate.

That's a good question! I will try to figure it out and reply again when I do. You got a pretty good channel there, btw.

I recently found some grass flats about 5 miles from my house, and there's so much more fish there than in the bay, and manta rays are always there. I can't stand to step in the sand barefoot, it crunches when you step.

You might try a few DOA shrimp. They do well up here. Not that you need any help in that department but you can save cash on live bait.The reds, trout and flounder love um. p.s. nice lunch.

I had a great idea , if you like crabs then why don't you get one of those crab traps . Catch one fish (unless u want left overs) and catch like 3 or 4 crabs and have a nice seafood meal

hey marty i think it'd be cool if did a video of u in your kayak and camping somewhere i think you have done this but it'd be cool if you did a new one

Alright, thats what I figured. Do you like to use the weighted or unweighted ones? I use unweighted around here, I find if I need weight on the hook I can attach a small lead split-shot to the hook shank.

Haha! Thanks, Ace. Yeah, those Rays are jerks. But it Is there house. And this little guy only had a small stub for a tail. He looked pretty pathetic and I have a soft spot for losers. Heck, I grew up in NY and was a Mets fan!
