I know that kind of back pain. It keeps you from doing things you don’t really have an immediate desire to do, and also doesn’t stop you from doing what you do desire to do.

i'm just putting mine together. I live on the ocean so I am hoping it won't be to much for it. I tried a Hobie inflatable last year and loved that it was so easy to use and something i can actually use. Arthritis makes it difficult to paddle a traditional kayak so the fins make it much easier to get out on the water.

Looking good Marty. I like the curves. I also like your use of what we would term a Flapdisc on an angle grinder to sand wood - wouldn't have thought of that! One thing that would concern me is if those curved trusses are going to support the shelves/cabinets, is one screw top and bottom going to hold them? I'd be tempted to add a metal plate like you did from the metal roof beams down to the wood ones. Keep 'em coming - Stay safe & well. 👍👍

This video actually gave me an idea for an even better replacement (good as this was). What if we do super glue, slipknot like he did, and then several wraps of seeing thread, covered by shrink tubing (and a light torch). I bet that would be even better than what most companies do from the factory.

The way these are now, all of the downward force of anything you put on the roof is going to be held up by the sheer strength of 1 screw from the bottom of the rib to the sidewall. If you notched the vertical posts on the wall and recessed the rib into the post, it would then transfer the load to the workbench underneath.

I love fairing, it felt like a massive puzzle piece to me when I learned it at boat school. It’s such a lovely way of creating beautiful objects that are cohesive to the eye. I’m glad to see you doing such a wonderful job at it.
