At the Jersey Shore, we don’t have snow a boy do we have cold! It was 5°F in my yard yesterday at 6 AM. This is the time of year we’re going to Florida it’s just so incredibly wonderful. To go from the colder the snow down to a beach with warm water and shells everywhere. I have not been to the West Coast of Florida in over 25 years. I still miss it so much. Now that my son is grown I think I’ll go spend a week down there looking for shells. Thank you for making these videos they make my day Kathy

Which exit? We used to go to Island Beach State Park and boy I never found anything good on the beaches. Down here is a totally different story. If you come in the summer, the gulf water is WARM! It blew my mind. I hope you do decide to come because it's really just an absolutely wonderful experience.

I went to Florida on the West Coast about 30 years ago to Sanibel Island best week of my life. There are sharks teeth on the beach between Belmar in Avon on the Belmar side the big giant surf clams I use those shells to line my flowerbeds. They’re not sure we are anything but they’re good for calcium. Someday I’m going to return down to the West Coast of Florida. Oh I was exit 98 Belmar Avon Asbury Park. As Berry Park speech is now are spectacular there is not a piece of trash anywhere you’re not allowed to smoke on them they have cleaned it up so much. And there’s a whole bunch of crafters not crafters artisans there’s a glass blower there was a potter I don’t know if it’s still there. The housing is a fortune. When I worked there 20 to 23 years ago you could buy one of those giant Victorians for $100,000 with zero interest now they’re going for two 3 million each. Take care of yourself

You have truly taught me soooooo much about shells. I’m so proud of myself because when you would show a shell I’d name it off before you told us what it was 🤗 oh I sooooo need one of those hinged spiny jewel boxes in my life!!!! It was gorgeous!!!!!! I dream to have just some of the type of shells you find!!!! All I’ve ever found when we go to Flagler beach Fl are clam shells, I have tons and tons of common clam shells 😫 not even a broken sand dollars!!! My cousins went to Tybee island and brought me back some sand dollars so right now these are my prized possessions of shells 💞

When you finally make it here you'll have to go to Marco Island. I seem to always find the mermaid money there. I remember when my husband and I found our first intact sand dollar. We treasured it! Hi Sharmon, Congratulations with finding that Limpet! Yay, another bucketlist item. You found so many gorgeous shells😍, that was quite a haul! Can't tell which one is my favourite, they are all amazing. I've already a little hunch what will happen next week. Poor you.... think your arms almost fell off. 😕 Wishing you a wonderful week, hopefully filled with sunshine (less rain and wind) and amazing finds. Big hug and lots of love, xoxo ❤, Ilona

I would like to ask you question and I am curious as to why you leave so Maney beautiful shells behind? I know you live close and can go back to the beach whenever you want to. But I sit here and drool while watching your videos. Lol I live in north central Florida in the Santa Fe river area..a couple of hours drive to the nearest beach.. I only get to go to the beach ever few years. But now getting too old to walk the beach. So I get my enjoyment out of watching the videos you put out for us!!!! Thank you so much!!!!!

I actually worry that I take too many shells sometimes! I do think I collect differently because 1) I live close to the beach and I'm committed to going every week and 2) I need to figure out what to do with the shells once I get home. I do not want to keep them all, so I sell them on Etsy and hope to make things with them. I think if I didn't get to go as often, I would probably collect more. I see some of the shells I first collected in a gumball machine, and my tastes have definitely changed!

love your videos! just spent 4 months in a little fishing village on the Azuero peninsular of Panama and became addicted to collecting shells. I was surprised to see that limpets are rare in Florida. My favorite beach in Panama would yield dozens and dozens of limpets every time. Each one a different color. Purples, shades of green, beige etc. now living in Orlando and planning to follow in your footsteps soon. Thank you for your videos.

Hi! Thank you so much again for your video! So incredible everything you found and thanks for braving the potentially hazardous for all of us viewers. I really liked seeing the limpet since I never saw one. Question: Can one find sand dollars at just about any Marco Island area beach? I have purchased 2 medium sand dollars from shell shops but I have never found one that was white in the water. For once I would like to find one in the water and be able to keep it. I have found the live ones at Lighthouse Beach Sanibel. Of course I don't pick them up but I admire their presence in the water. It is a treat though to see them anyhow. Thank you for bringing all of us along on your trips.

Every single time I've been to Marco Island I've found sand dollars. That's not to say there are days when perhaps there are none, but I'm rarely disappointed. The condition of them varies, but sometimes they are indeed perfect and white. I remember the first time I found my one perfect sand dollar. I can't believe now I sometimes find a whole bunch of them in the same day. I love Florida!!!

Do you ever consider creating a big box of shells that we middle of the country types could get sent to us to hold these beach treasures. I couldn’t help but notice the small little bits of corals and such too. Those are so unique and fascinating. Make me think of ways I could use them in pine needle baskets I make here from our local trees. I love the spiny jewel boxes too. I think they’re my favorites closely above the lace murexes and the cool worm snails. I like things that are weird and unique. I’d love to buy a box of shells from someone who goes out and collects them instead of a box from hobby lobby
