I still get a nostalgic feeling every time you use that Stud Welder. Such an easy tool to sell back when I sold them. Huge time saver. Easy sale for a busy shop.

Great video Richard. Just wondering do you have "Tig welding" capabilities. I'm just wondering that via Tig, that if you did that, you would save some time reference grinding/sanding the faces of the parts. Hey; I could be dead wrong on this subject, so I figured I'd ask an expert.
@42Fab4 жыл бұрын
it's definitely an approach, but by using the plasma cutter to mark the locations of the studs via a pierce, the front face needs that hole filled anyway. Bunch of ways to do things, the right answer is generally the one that gets it done to my standards in the least amount of time.

They got powder coated, so the faces needed to be ground/sanded anyway. TIG is technically slower, so in the end you aren't saving any time. Especially if it's not a "beauty weld"

I have a quick question, how do you record welding.

Nd1000 filter and manual exposure and focus. Just the filter will get you started

I have a hypertherm 30xp. Do know if there are any plasma tables I could use it with. I’m trying to get started on a budget with things I already own. I know I need to upgrade to a bigger one down the road. Any help is appreciated.

Hey man. I just bought a plasma table. Its a "Premier Plasma" 4x4. Anyways, if I'm not mistaken, I believe your machine will work. Just need to make sure your table has a hand torch mount option. Since your cutter doesn't have a CNC port on the back, you will have to splice the wires from the table inside your cutter. These are ones that tell the machine when to fire. I bought the same cutter as Richard, MicroCut 875 with the cnc package so I have a cnc port. So I just connect my wires to the cnc port connector and plug it into my machine. Also double check the Powermax 30 can even do CNC. I don't see why it couldn't but just make sure because I only researched the Powermax 45 and I know that can do CNC. Hopefully this helps 👍

Hey Richard! What finish did you put on the pieces? Did you send them out for powder or did you paint them with some sort of rust paint? Nice job man.

Powder coating

Terry Conroy I was wondering the same. Anything else than powder coating and the wall would have rust stains.

@@42Fab ever thought about getting laser instead of plasma? Cleaner cut, plus if there aren't many laser cutters in your area you could do custom cutting to broaden your clientele. 6'X12' tables are sweet with a 4000W lasers....if you have the space and money lol

complete waste for what I do. the cost per cut inch is much higher, even after the larger investment. Sure, they're nice in many ways, but completely unneeded in my line of work

what product? The sign? The stud welder? The weldityourselfkits? Darn, I guess I'm the asshole for producing free content for you to watch, and monetizing those who wish to purchase.

It was a free learning video if you really want to critique it. Also, nobody forced you to watch it and how much did it cost you? Oh, it was free......I hate it when people offer their .02 cents and have nothing of value to offer.
