I took the similar way as you will- I put some of my things (wholesome, not just the kitchen) "away" (stored them in my childhood room at my mothers home) to see just how little I need. I realised that I can live with really small amount of items but it is easier and in some way more eco friendly to have a bit more- with clothes I prefer to have just enough and to never wash only a half of a laundry in washing machine. I know some people are hand washing their clothes but that is not suitable for me. In the kitchen I made washable kitchen towels but instead of having only few, I have lots so I never ran out. I'm finding the balance between minimalism and less waste (I don't buy if I don't need) and functionality. I own less stuff then some other person but I still have a lot more then someone who lives with only 40 items:) I think the meaning of minimalism is to have right amount of stuff that works for you; there is no general rule of how much that is. This balance to have just enough is a way to go for me:)

The Pyrex is great because it is 100% functional and doubles as serving dishes. I didn’t realize till recently that my family doesn’t have “serving dishes” (well we have 2 we rarely use) we have mixing bowls & nice looking casserole dishes (PYREX & Corning Ware). I decided to build a small vintage collection so I can have the same multipurpose kitchenware when I move out).

Thanks for the kitchen tour and sharing your tips (and for being totally ok about using plastic - which is ok in my book when you’re doing so much elsewhere!). Using baskets for drawers is one of the best things you can do when you have cupboards. I use a plate holder from ikea to store my chopping boards upright too on my corner cabinet.

I got way too excited to see your new kitchen tour. I have watched your old ones countless times. They really inspire me and somehow relax me. Your channel is one of my all time faves. I agree that I would like to see your minimalist goals, updated cleaning, and cooking videos if you're into it. Thanks!!!

I still own one of those metal strainers, which is going on 30 years. Maybe the oldest thing in my kitchen cabinet! Nuts and seeds definitely belong in the fridge! Loved the tour. Hope you and Nick are well!

Thanks, for the tour. Just a suggestion, we store our strainers & funnels on small finishing nails...

I enjoyed the tour. I found those scrubbier a few months ago. Definitely a game changer and I too like that you can pop them in the dishwasher.

Awesome video! I am working on minimizing my kitchen. I am trying to figure out a good number of dishes and not have to constantly hand wash a plate or bowl. I need stainless steel mason jar lids. I have never thought of storing random appliances in a bin genius. I store simolar items in a bin in my pantry. I hope you have a great week!

Thank you Ali! This was so helpful and a cleaning routine would also be great. With a partner who loves stuff more than me, the kitchen is challenge.

I am not sure about pumpkin seeds specifically, but this Sprouts has most of its bulk section available! I’ve been able to get turbinado sugar, macadamia nuts, cashew, beans, and rice bulk! 3011 El Camino Real, Tustin, CA 92782

Just wanted to let you know - I bought the Skoy scrubbies off of Etsy , to later find the exact ones on Amazon! I had no idea they were not made by the independent shop owner. Just wanted to make you aware! 🙃

Force of Nature doesn’t want you to know this, but you don’t have to buy their refills. The exact measurements for DIY refills is 0.65 grams of table salt and 2.5 grams of vinegar. My scale doesn’t go down that low, so I weigh out 1 gram of salt and 3 grams of vinegar, and it works just fine.
