Great video. Thanks for showing step by step how you did things. I'm about to do this on my 2002 RCSB sloppy build.

This video has helped me a lot, I couldn't find info on this anywhere

You should be able to mount that coolant overflow tank sideways in the same spot (turn it 90 degrees) and that will at least get it off the turbo. May require a different hose if that kinks the factory to much, or just snip the factory hose to work.
@LowbuckLS6 жыл бұрын
Thanks silentbravo, I appreciate you’re input. Will try turn it sideways as you suggested. Thanks again for watching and commenting.

What size turbo are you running? I'm thinking about a small turbo and about 7psi on my suburban just for a little help when towing. Not particularly a race or high hp application. Also how much boost are you running?
@LowbuckLS5 жыл бұрын
Michael Brown I’m running a 7875 turbo and currently running about 10lbs of boost but plan on cranking that up to 15lbs once I upgrade my fuel pump.

Under boost, does the stock map sensor stay in place?
@bryanwhitehouse86624 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the knowledge couple vids really came in handy! I did this swap and my boost gauge came with a map sensor as well you think it’ll be fine to tee and use the same vacuum line for both
@LowbuckLS4 жыл бұрын
Bryan Whitehouse should be fine I would think

Hey mate I’m having some trouble with my ls1 idling I have adjusted the tune it is surging and the idle is up and down I run a high rise manifold and it has no map sensor spot so I haven’t got it hooked up would that be my problem since I have no map sensor?
@LowbuckLS4 жыл бұрын
4x4 life yes I would bet that is your problem, pretty important to have that MAP sensor reading for the computer to do its calculations correctly

My OS tab shows a blank page. Do I have to install the 3 bar MAP first then connect to the truck for it to recognize the 3 bar?
@LowbuckLS4 жыл бұрын
Maybe there's already a custom OS installed on that ECM, go in to the VCM Editor, click on the "Edit" menu option at the top of the screen, click on "Calibration Details" and go to the "Controllers" tab. $ Item down should say "Operating System" see what it says there. You need to be starting with a stock OS to be able to install the 3 bar OS. IF some other OS is installed the OS tab will be blank like you are seeing.

installing a Fitech standalone ls efi on my 5.3 that I have in my 77 C10 (it came from a 2000 1500 Silverado) and the fitech comes with a 3 bar map sensor which won't fit into the factory spot, and they said to drill it out, and that would mean pieces falling into it, I have been all over youtube, and the internet to figure this out, on how to connect FItech's map sensor, and you resolve it, at least for now I have a way (I don't want to take off the intake to drill a hole for that sensor) and I hope there is another way ,,,, but i thank you 4 years youtube,, anyone has other ways - please I am open

When we put a higher bar sensor car makes more boost(bar) or not
@LowbuckLS5 жыл бұрын
Altin Ademaj the 3 bar map sensor just allows the engine computer to measure a higher level of boost it doesn’t create more boost, you would need to adjust your boost controller or wastegate spring to do that. The 3 bar map sensor is needed so the computer can measure the manifold pressure under boost and calculate how much fuel is needed to keep the air fuel ratio correct.
@sharkcitywarrior54855 жыл бұрын
So do you have to run an air intake temp sensor when running 3 bar ?
@LowbuckLS5 жыл бұрын
SHARK CITY WARRIOR yes you still need an IAT sensor, the ECU uses that temperature for calculations. Up til this point I have been using the IAT sensor that is built in to the MAF sensor, but I’m getting rid of the MAF so I just bought a stand alone IAT sensor, will show how to install it in an upcoming video.
