I followed this to the letter and it went fantastic. Nice work. Nothing against dealerships (ok well maybe lol) but they quoted just over $2000 to change out the BCM for a right signal light that would not work. Reading online I discovered it was a bad IC in the BCM and bought a used one for around $30. Got the VCX and followed the video and all is now well. Not to mention its a fairly decent diagnostic tool. I was able to do a Crankshaft Sensor reset and look at quite a few items under the hood. I did have some issues with the airbag but discovered another actual error with them and was able to locate the issue with the VCX. Thank you for putting this out there. Truly appreciated.

I have a 2015 gmc 2500, my truck was originally from Canada but I bought it in the US. I am not able to turn my headlights off when the truck is in drive and it is dark outside. I need this feature to go through security gates at my job as well as not blind people at the boat launch early mornings. Will this allow me to change the headlight setting in the BCM?

Great video. My BCM has gone out. I have no highbeams or AC and my air bag light cam on all about the same time. I ordered the VCX nano and a new BCM and I purchased the ACDelco software. Hopefully this fixes my issues.

Too much for something to see IF ... It works. The FREE version of software does not work. I have screenshots step by step of error messages... IF you feel like you want to debate me on that - I followed your instructions perfectly. Checking the GM box gives you Toyota. I received a call from Shanghai CHINA at one point. $184 = IF it works... I can get the dealer to program my stuff for that much. You made it seem like the VCX + AC Delco software and subscription WAS all that was needed. I now have a AC Delco subscription and VCX that does not work... And It took me ALL day on my day off to determine I needed additional software. The AC Delco software is PUNISHINGLY slow and I downloaded and installed TWICE because I could not get things to work. I followed your instructions perfectly. I'm tempted to get the GM Tech 2 with Candi Module connector... $400-$500 no Chinese taking over your computer.

I am new, brand new, no previous experience new to any kind d of programming/tuning. My 2001 5.3 keeps draining the battery and I exhausted all methods known to me to find the slow leak with no success. Mechanic inspected and suggested the BCM likely needed replaced. After watching your videos many times as well as some on Goat Rope Garage, my confidence was high. I had a degree of success but my truck won't start after the reprogram. Also noticed that there are not the many options shown in your video...4 modules and 5 under the BCM. Also having issues with Tech2win, says not licensed and I don't know if there's a special way to launch it or something else I'm missing. This is a lot to unpack..but any help is appreciated.

i just watched this video, sounds like something I am going to give a shot. I have a 2006 cadillac cts, we bought couple months ago and had a problem pop up with the front turn signals coming on and staying on. I have done alot of research and it seems this may be a bcm problem. I just wanted to verify what all I would need to buy to replace my bcm with a used one. The ACdelcoTDS program obviously, but then do i need the Tech2 software? Assuming i need an OBDII adapter to usb, for connection to my laptop. i have my own OBDII sensor, not an expensive one though.

You won’t need the Tech2 software, just a cable (I’d recommend one of the OBDX Pro cables) and access to a TDS subscription. I’ve been told the process has changed a bit since I made this video, I’ll look into updating it.

Yes I went through the process you detailed in your video and received an error message at the end of BCM reprogramming. I remember in a previous video you purchased Tech 2 on a 3 day trial did you still have that software in the system when you loaded the programs from VX Diag Nano?

Hey Randy, I’m a little behind. Glad to see you throwing up some content! Do you happen to know if using this programmer and software if you can permanently get rid of the TPMS crap. Like you I’m not running the sensors and just tired of the warning.

No unfortunately this won’t work to disable the TPMS system, it will only program whatever options came with the VIN from the factory. There is a guy in the states that does custom BCM programming, that’s the only way I know of to disable TPMS. I’d love to learn how to do that but the guys who know how to do it are pretty secretive about their methods. Nice hearing from you again though!

Question: I purchased the VXDIAG Nano and set it up with no problems. Purchased the 24 mon vehicle programming software from AC Delco but, it only says available not active any hints on getting it to active? BCM issue on 07 Avalanche.

If you're good at soldering then you can just replace the 8 pin eeprom from your old bcm to the new one. No need to pack for a vxdiag and the acdelco stuffs 😁

It should work, the process may be different in some details so this video may not apply exactly but it would still be done with the SPS system through the AC Delco TDS website.

I believe when using the 'replace ecm' option you should be starting the process with the original controller in place so the configuration can be retrieved and loaded into the new unit. I'm not sure if that would simplify the process or not?

There’s gotta be a way to do it with the GDS2 application, unfortunately I don’t have a GDS2 compatible vehicle to connect to, and I can’t see the menus without being connected to a vehicle.

I have a 2006 Sa Vue that has been showing signs of a bad BCM, i.e., erratic fuel gauge, radio not working, cruise ctrl not working at times....and tonight, stalling, jerking when trying to accelerate, security light on while the vehicle is running, etc. Do you think these programming tools will reprogram a new bcm.....I have one on the way? Hello, Does anyone activate the fog lights in BCM in 2019 Buick Encore? I have the Encore without the forg lights and i got fog lights, the front end harness and light switch from another junked Encore. When plugged in headlights work as they used to, but fog lights dont. I have traced all wires from the switch to BCM and from BCM to under hood fuse box, from fuse box to fog lights, and all is there. I can manually turn the fog lights on, by overriding the BCM, and applying the "-" to the wire from BCM to fuse box, just to prove the point all is workin fine, but BCM. If anyone knows how to acivate it please let me know. (FYI i can easily do it in Chrysler and Ford vehicles via AlfaOBD or ForScan, but cannot find a way with GM using GDS2)

I’m having the same issue. I get an error message that says the username and password is already in use when I click add vin. Still sends me to start sps. Follow all the same steps but I don’t see the j2435 wrapper and it doesn’t see my vcx nano. I even tried opening a new account with a different email to see if I screwed something up. Hi Randy. I'm prepping to replace the BCM in a 2011 Sierra 1500. The issue is the driver side turn signals (front & back) don't work but the hazards, passenger side turn signals and brake lights all work fine. I did the obvious and replaced the multi-switch in the steering column and checked/cleaned the wiring connectors between the BCM and the steering column (the top green plug I believe). I think this is an awesome video and will be giving it a try to see if a BCM replacement fixes the issue. I've got two questions I'm hoping you could answer: 1. Can Microsoft Edge work as the browser or does it have to be Internet Explorer? and 2. I noticed that there was no "key relearn" needed when you programmed the replacement BCM - was that because the ignition key you used to turn the truck to "ON" is automatically learned while the new program is being installed in the BCM? I'm hoping to have this done in about 10 days or so and will post an update here. Thanks again for the video!!!

Hi Randy. Here's my follow-up. It took a bit of effort to get the VCX Nano software loaded properly after it arrived a couple of days ago. The unit didn't come with the installation DVD and the programs like GDS2 and Tech2Win wouldn't install properly from the online link on the VXDIAG website (as administrator and with antivirus/firewalls turned off). Initially I did try loading the individual *.exe files for all the programs but the Tech2Win program wouldn't really work (I think it had to do with the MDI software missing something). I did find a 1.01 GB image (iso) file called "VXDIAG GM 2020.07 GDS2, Tech2Win and VX Manager 2021-04" under the heading of "GM DIAG" about 4/5th's down the page for this link: www.vxdiagshop.com/info/download/ that I eventually used to burn my own "Install DVD" which loaded like a charm for the GDS2 and Tech2Win programs. For some reason VX Manager wasn't installing without errors from the disk so I went to this site to install the Mar-21 version of VX Manager (which loaded with no issues): www.vxdiag.net/?lang=en Once the programming was installed I tried it out in the Sierra to confirm everything worked. Then I swapped in the BCM I got from a local Pick'n Pull yard and downloaded the new BCM program from the ACDelco TDS site (recent subscription still at $53.00 Cdn) just like you did in the video and it installed smoothly. One thing was when I tried to install the J2534 wrapper software I got a message that it didn't install. The good news is everything seemed to work ok without it. After all that I used Tech2Win to setup the SBM primary key and then tried out the Driver's side signal lights - which worked like a charm! Now I have to do a "crankshaft position variation" relearn (error P0315) and that should do it. Thank you so much Randy for making these videos to help do-it-yourselfers like me. Sharing your hard earned knowledge is greatly appreciated!

The mileage must not be stored in the BCM, it might be stored in the instrument cluster or something because the mileage on the odometer is correct even after swapping the BCM, I don’t need to do anything special. I’m using Windows 10.

@@jayway8612 No it's not possible to do it that way, would be nice but you need an interface tool between the computer and the vehicle.

too bad Opel moved to PSA service box from ACDelco TDS... now the prices for SPS are only for 2 hours and costs 35 euros ... (40$). Note that up to 2012 you can do SPS only with Global TIS installed. ACDelco TDS is only needed for cars 2013+ (at least in Europe)
