I replaced the passenger door lock switch and everything works now. If you have a transmission shifting problem look at the tps. Throttle position sensor. It is riveted on the side of the throttle body. I would recommend replacing the whole throttle body. Thank you for your help. I enjoy the videos

The procedure you show only works if the replacement BCM has been reprogrammed to the VIN of the vehicle it's going into. I got a used BCM with matching P/N# and this procedure didn't work because it wasn't reprogrammed to my VIN.

Hello gentlemen! So I have what appears to be a bad BCM on a 2005 Tahoe 2WD, fleet model. I say appears because of all these issues: doors lock but no unlock via keyless security entry/exit, no working gauges on the center. console, drivers and passengers front door controls don't work (mirrors, passenger windows), no cabin lights, aftermarket radio used to shutoff when any door opened after turning ignition to "off" but now I have to manually turn off the radio, airbag trouble light on, rear window defogger no longer works, power mirrors only work on the driver's side mirror and reverse lights don't work. Are these symptoms of a bad BCM?

I've got a 2001 gmc sierra ext cab 4x4 5.3 the ac stopped working all of a sudden. Thought it was compressor had everything replaced. And it won't turn on. My mechanic made a relay that was constantly on and if you plug it in the fuse box the compressor will kick on. Take it out put the oem relay in it won't cut on. He says it's showing it sending the signal or power but won't come on unless putting the relay he made in it. Also i could not get new keyfob to program when buying the truck. I'm having battery drain also. Will a bcm fix these issues?

Keyless entry module is different on that model it’s under the dash cover above the instrument cluster. That module is probably faulty. As for the AC most likely bad ECM

I have an 07 GMC Sierra new body style that recently had to replace the bcm on. The problem is that when the new bcm was installed for some reason my left signal, windshield wipers & emergency lights don’t work. I also get a couple signals on dash that weren’t there previously such as air bag, hood open. Idk if this matters but my truck was Engine swapped & Had a 2007 Chevy Tahoe 5.3 engine installed. I have a 2000 GMC Sierra 5.3l. I replaced the BCM with one I bought from rock auto. I did the procedure to get it to start. Now since the new BCM is in my headlights are on all the time. More importantly my TOW HAUL does NOT work. It's not the shifter cable, I even cut out the connector and soldered new wire. Button has continuity when pressed. Took it to the dealer and they said the BCM isn't programmable? Everything worked before I replaced it! I replaced it thinking I had a phantom battery drain... It turned out being my amp for my subs. The fan on the amp never turns off. Put in a kill switch now battery is good for days. I don't have my old BCM. IS THERE ANYWAY YOU COULD HELP WITH THIS?

I have a 2009 GMC Sierra 1500 quad cab 5.3 4x4 my gauges go crazy doors lock and unlock but mostly when I'm doing 55 mph down the road it will downshift and won't re shift again I gotta keep a scanner plugged in and when it does it I gotta clear the codes then it will shift again any ideas? I've changed the ECM module the module under the truck by the spare tire a new ignition had a shop say there was a break in the wire harness that runs under the truck on the frame rail they fixed that changed the 175amp mega fuse also cleaned the connection for that the braided ground wire on the back of the motor going to the firewall was breaking apart so ran a new thicker wire only other thing I can think of that wasn't done is the BCM

Read the BCM handles turn signals,flashers,brake lights.My 2012 Savana has a problem with left side,the brake light will not work,left emergency flasher will not work and the left blinker will not work but the bulb is good,all other lights work.Checked fuses and I figured if my BCM was bad nothing would work right so what you think it could be?Thanks

2003 suburban. Would bcm cause vehicle to shut off while driving went over railroad tracks. Will not start. Starter is good, battery is good, relays are good. Mirrors work intermittent, locks work only after removing pcm fuse. PCM fuse releases several relays when removed but soon as key is to run position all goes off and no crank. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Man I have some serious "Christine" stuff going on with my truck. (2009 GMC Sierra) I apply my blinker my headlights flicker, the engine bucks and the dash lights flash on and off. Sometimes the door locks open and close rapidly until I turn off the blinker. And recently, I grabbed my two buttons for the rear windows and as I engaged them my air bag light flashed off and on. No one has ever heard of this problem and can't help me. Do you think the BCM and computer is causing this problem?

I have a 2003 Tahoe Z-71 with a strange issue. The re-circulation door wont go into any position other than, "fresh air". We have replaced the temp control head unit and actuator with new GM parts, NO CHANGE!!!. When you plug into the computer it reports a different VIN# and thinks its a GMC Yukon XL! The previous owner says the vehicle was re-flashed because it wouldn't start after having a bad starter replaced. Im thinking maybe they got a junk yard ECM or BCM and thats why the VIN and model is different, but this is the only thing left I can imagine to try to fix it?

Had a jumpstart go wrong and im pretty sure it fried my bcm. The truck still runs though. The radio fuse blew and most of the electrical in truck doesn't work. For example after the jumpstart i have no headlights, gauges dont work except for rpms. radio, door locks and windows and no communication with obd2 port but does power up. Does that sound like a bad bcm?

I want to 6l80 Swap my 2000 silverado. If I pickup an ECU for an 05 and a BCM for an 05 are the wiring pinouts the same? Also, would this allow me to swap my gauges out to newer 05 cluster? Thanks. I also have HP Tuners so I can change whatever in the system once its together. However the 6l80 doesn't exist in the 2000 ECU I have.

How do I know if I have a bad BCM? Some issues I’m having: Seat heaters flicker on and off. Driver side seat directional controls are reversed. Seat memory is not being retained in the proper position. Also the voltmeter in the dash goes up and down, lights get dim and bright with it. Replaced the alternator, cleaned the grounds connections. Also did the big three up grade, no change. The only way I could get the voltage to read/stay steady was to unplug the amp monitor on the negative cable. I replaced the amp monitor too but that didn’t work either.

My 1999 Silverado 2500, extended cab, long bed has a small problem.... Every now and then , with the engine warmed up properly, AC on, recycling..., My idle seems to dip too low for a few seconds.... It doesn't happen all the time... But I worry it will learn the wrong info..., or will possibly die... Any idea what it could be..? I keep thinking about the programming... Maybe there is a part of the cycling that is missing..., or telling the idle to drop about 100 rpm at idle with AC cycling.. Anything..?

i have a 06 denail and my master door control do not work.(windows, mirrors, heated seats, pedels adjust etc), when turning key b4 starting, the controls light up on the master door panel. after starting my truck and the computer cycles the master door panel controls go out.. but on once in a while it might pop back on while driving and cut right off. I also have the same problem on my 2000 Sierra 1500. It's 3 door truck Z71 with the 5.3. I get nothing when activating the switch, no relay clicking or anything, but I can take the fog lamp relay out and jump pin 85 and 30 with a jumper wire and my fog lamps turn on. I tried 2 different switches and I can't get them to come on. I know the orange wire is a signal wire to tell the bcm to activate the fog lights, but I don't think my bcm is sending the signal to the fog lights. Anybody know any other way to test this? What am I missing?

What about the "engine hot a/c turned off" is that a bcm issue? It clears when I clear codes for a sort time then says hot again. I put a all aluminum radiator, new temp sensor and thermostat. My research lead me here.

@@SpartanAutoworx There are some wires that have been rewired coming from the bcm on this truck(I just bought) and I read a Silverado thread where a master mechanic followed this same problem to a burnt plug on the bcm. I would love for you to be correct as the pcm is only $100. But I fear it is the bcm which is way more.

MY battery on my 2015 Escalade kept dying within about 45 minutes. My battery was putting out about 17 amps with the car off. If I pull fuse #13 in the engine fuse block the truck will not die and the amperage returns to normal.The manual lists fuse #13 as a Interior BEC LT2. What do I do? Any help is appreciated.

+Doug Martell I ended up bringing mine to the shop. Check your fuse box. I had some corrosion in there that wasn't sending power to my bcm and I forget what fuse it was but it was a 10amp fuse close to you in the bottem right hand corner if ur looking at the fuse box. Tlc or tcl fuse or something like that

When I turn my headlights on my rear windshield wiper comes on. all my dummy lights like e brake is on ABS security traction control I thought it was a ground wire situation so I switched and re-did all the ground wires and added extra. Do you think it could be a body control module. I had one mechanic hook it up to a scanner and that’s what he suggested.

Need a few answers to these question.but first I had been having problems with my 01 pontiac grandam so I have changed alot of parts on my car. Problems: The cars radio would come on around a curve or if I hit railroads tracks, car would die. Security would kick on making car not start, Dash Lights flash so on so on. Ok security light gave issues alot so I bypassed it. Drive fine for a long time but now I've had problems with no crank no start for the past several days. I took my BCM out and it was laying on inside the kick panel in water. I've bought a new battery thinking that was the problem and still won't start. I'm thinking my BCM is bad but I drove it days before after finding it in water but now won't start at all. So could this be the bcm. Also will a 01 Alero work in a 01 pontiac grandam. I've heard certain numbers could work is this true or does it have to be the same numbers on my BCM? I'm lost and out a whole lot of money and need help figuring this out. Sounds like bcm is bad if it got wet. We dont sell them for that car but 3 different versions can be found for that car. One has keyless entry built into it the other two do not.

quick question. I recently replaced pcm that was reprogrammed with my vin#. but runs perfect but I noticed last night when either visor mirror is opened, or map light is turned on. the corrosponding lights do not come on, but the button lights around radio and temp controls go off until you close mirrors in visors or push map light button again. I was thinking bcm maybe need remarried but pcm was programmed with my vin. anyway i am trying to determine if I need a new bcm

I have a 07 yukon that will flash stabletrack light and transmission will shift hard from 1st to 2nd, then goes back to normal for a bit. The radio will once in a while not work, the airbag light is on and the remote start stopped working.. does this sound like the module to you?

BCM swap would not cause a p0300 to set. Engine controls and BCM controls are separate.

Can I put a crew cab bcm in an extended cab? because I got full power heated leather memory seats out of a crew cab and the memory doesn't work because my extended cab bcm doesn't have the plug in for the seat stuff. Besides I will be building the truck into a crew cab dually, so would be nice if I could just swap the bcm along with the pcm and just go to town. Any info would be very helpful, Thanks

Crew cab can fit anything. Reg Cab and ext cab will not fit crew or suv.

I've got an 07 Silverado Classic crewcab I swapped some door panels and switches from an 03 Denali XL now my power windows, locks, dome light switch, A/C and key fob won't work. Does this sound BCM related?

It would be odd for it to go out when you did the swap but it could be. I would unplug the door switches and swap them with the original first. Could be a bad switch pulling down the data line. If that test out ok I would then replace the bcm.

I've got a 08 Duramax crew cab. Been fighting an intermittent electrical problem where I will get multiple DIC messages (Service Air Bag, Service 4 wheel Drive, Service Trailer Brake, Service TPMS) All the instrument gages will go to zero, the radio will go dead, and I lose control of the HVAC and 4 wheel drive selector. Turn signals also go out on the instrument panel but the turn signals in the mirrors still operate and the marker under the drive selection goes away. At first I isolated this to the module that interfaces with the aftermarket radio. Replaced that module and all was good for 7 months now the issue is back. I tried to isolate the HVAC and radio module but the issues still returns. I do get the P0140 loss communication code. Does this look like a BCM issue? If I have to relearn the air bag system, what is needed to get it reprogramed if I change the BCM. Thanks, Dean

Obviously you have a problem with the aftermarket radio. Aftermarket junk always causes problems.

@@deerhunter8533 Well that was not the case. Even after isolating the modules for the radio the problem persisted. Ending up purchasing a single channel oscilloscope and found the wiring going to my VICM causing my issue. Could not find a smoking gun but I believe the shielding ground wires for the antenna connections were my issue. Definitely not aviation quality but isolating those wires and rerouting cleared up my problem.

I have an 04 Silverado that I had to replace the battery and the battery was out of the truck for over 4 hrs I Put the new battery in and the truck did the no start scenario now I got a pass the no start it will start but I have no auto daytime running lights no power windows in the back of my crew cab no door locks and no radio with this be a BCM issue

I am riding the 2002 Escalade in Japan. Let me ask a question about BCM exchange. Do I need tech 2 for programming when I exchange BCM? Could you tell me how to program?

On that particular module you can pretty much swap out the unit for a compatible interchange. One has 4x4 witch is interchange 6645. The 2wd version is interchange 6642. It must be from a 02 but yukon tahoe will also work. If you get one from a Escalade you should be lucky enough not to have to program for your year.

As long as its from a 02 escalaide you should be able to skip having to program. It wont be correct for the truck but everything should work. Best of luck. :)

Spartan, I am currently having issues in my 06 LBZ Crew cab Silverado with my signals not working, RPM/tach being sporadic, windshield washer fluid low warning and my seat adjustments and heaters both inop both sides. I have had a few codes come up in the past year that have cleared themselves. But when I pulled them they said BCM. Are all these things related? If so, I suppose I call and order one up. I saw them on flea-bay but you never know with that place. And I’m sure as hell not paying stealership prices. They’ll want a billion dollars and a few of my appendages lol PLEASE HELP! She’s my only ride and it’s snowing like crazy (it’s winter here in Utah), so hand/arm signals are a pain!!!!

Only thing you need on that sticker is part number to match hollander interchange number.
