MOOG sells this 181.99 one you bought, and considering it's a 2004 van and doesn't need 16 more years , I went with the 55.99 MOOG replacement.

Fools mistake. Im a man. And daily a 04 being i work out of it. The side doors and seats removed very nice RELAIBLE van. Mine is at 210k miles. And its got the defective factory transmission. Been whining like a jet engine for 4 years at 140k miles. And this vans lived all 20 years in rust belt. And its rot free. Transmissions used are cheap. And not hard to replace. And when it comes time i can buy 1 for 300 and do the job in a day myself. Dont doubt honda... all cars have a flaw. But honda is a step down from a toyota. Imo being a engine repair/builder. Honda/yota are probably the top 2 cars to own for just being better in long term life then anyone else...

A torque wrench with a crowfoot at ninety degrees can get the castle nut on the ball joint. But it's not a terribly precisely specified fastener to begin with, since you tighten to the lower torque in the specified range, and then tighten further however much it takes to line up the cotter pin hole. I doubt that most professional mechanics bother with a torque wrench for any of these fasteners.

thanks for sharing my wife took our Odessey in for inspection they wanted almost 1500 bucks to do both lowers talk about a screw job I could see a hundred a side and a little parts markup but I can't believe the 10 times the mark up on parts and over 400 labor on a 1 hour job for both I said Ill do it the guy smirked that really got me pissed I bought parts did them in about an hour I took it back the next day at 8am he was surprised he said that was fast I said YEP I'm old ASE certified mechanic and by the way the bushings nor ball joints were bad I brought the old one with me to show them maybe they should pay me for lying ? they hit me up on an old truck I bought a couple years ago the place is what I call ball joint capital I told the guys at the VFW not to go there and spread the word crooks I will be getting ahold of the state patrol who monitors the inspection process I've worked on cars since the 70s until about 5 years ago now into painting and restoration along with diesel mechanic and equipment certified with emergency vehicle certs over 45 years turning wrenches since the marine corps can't stand people ripping off customers it's one thing if its honestly needed I'm ready to start a shop that Justs inspects vehicles no mechanical work so there's no reason to find thousands of dollars of un needed work it's a black eye to the honest mechanic's that don't rip people off we can all make a living without screwing people if you take offence you that you must be a rip off guy
