In explaining the movements at the hip joint, you said that lateral rotation is bringing the femur inward while medial rotation is bringing the femur outward, away from the body. Shouldn't it be the other way around ? This is stated at the very beginning of the video.
@thomaspennington12886 жыл бұрын
No, the video was correct. Lateral rotation is when you twist the femur to the outside, resulting in the lower limb/foot moving more medial. That's why it's confusing, the lower limb looks like it's doing the opposite movement. The same goes for medial rotation when the lower limb moves more laterally.

When the knee is flexed it looks as if the movements are the other way around. Just pay attention to the direction of the head of the femur :)

@@TastyTreatsx How about the hip rotation when knee is extended? when the toe point laterally it is hip lateral rotation then?

What joint action is occurring at the knee during the concentric phase of a leg extension
@theoryparker3 жыл бұрын
So when the knee is flexed, when the femur goes into lateral rotation, the lower leg goes into medial rotation; that much is obvious. BUT is the knee itself considered medially or laterally rotated? What part of the knee is the reference point there?
