I personally tried exit lag a few times and it always increased my ping by like 10 which is not ideal for a payed program to make it worse, since im moving within 30 miles max of a server with fiber internet i doubt programs like this would help for living that close to begin with as they're to help with routing i believe

I tried Gear Up Booster for free trial in Apex Legends and it may not have changed my ping significantly, but in my case it rather stabilized it at 40 and Gear Up caused me to lose latencies such as: UMCD latency, latency compensation and packing loss and other similar things. Which used to give me problems, but now it was fine.

Used Exitlag for like 6 months, now I'm sticking to Gearup. In terms of servers location both is exactly the same for me, but there was some incosistencies with packet loss in Exitlag. And after some update exitlag removed settings which worked best for me(was called "tcp/udp syn" or something like that) in terms of ping. Also, Gearup doesn't take a year to start like exitlag with their routes check, and Gearup is cheaper, so for me it's obvious which one to choose.

Not too educated on the subject, but i did hear about vpn's being able to fake your ingame ping. I would personally prefer if you did network latency testing and traceroute to see if it actually lowered your server hops or not since thats technically far more important than 10 ping

i haven’t ever used either, but recently i have been getting really bad packet loss and ping. i’ve ran speed tests and troubleshot my ethernet cord but nothing works. do you have any recommendations other than buying exit lag/gear up booster? my average ping on east would be 5-15 and central would be 30, now i get around 30% packet loss with 60 ping on each server.

mind if i ask where you live at (state/province)? east and central ping is goated i wonder what u get on west lol (pls lmk). 100% it's your ISP routing problem. YOUR ONLY FIX IS TO CHANGE ISP. Talking to them will get you nowhere, they can't just fix routing it'll take time & money which lets be real they won't fix just for you to play Fortnite. To find a good ISP make sure they do not 1. Network throttle (very important). 2. Speeds don't matter much, but if you stream, make sure you have more than 15Mbps upload. Remember, optimal internet should focus on stability more than anything else. 3. Choose cable, fiber, and not DSL. If you really care, could ask the ISP you're looking into to send 100 hops/ping (or more) to ping-nae.ds.on.epicgames.com for East, ping-nac.ds.on.epicgames.com for Central, and give you the average ping and packet loss and ask for them to do it somewhere in between like 4-8pm (or wtv you believe would be high traffic hour in your area). If u live with parents you can ask how much they pay and find a better ISP with similar pricing or even tell them you'd pay it all, or a portion of it if they change. I know how much it sucks to just want to play a game after a long day but can't bc of shitty internet so, goodluck brother.

ExitLag has helped me with Halo Infinite s horrible packet loss and jitter. On rare occasions it's actually worse. I'll have to try the other app and see if it gets me any improvement. I doubt any app can overcome crappy isps and congestion.

I tried both and Khorvie is right that these programs works but depend on your personal machine and situation. For me both worked, but Gearup was erratic : sometimes better ping sometimes way worse. Exitlag didn’t improve ping but give me a very stable connection a remove a lag of stutter or micro lag i have had everytime someone sprays me for example.

ExitLAG works for me, while I do get a lower ping, the game feels even more delayed than normal, much like QoS to me. I will try out GearUp and see how it feels. Nothing can overcome the client/ server delay Epic has built in to the game. I've complained about this for years ...

@@juanito3841 when u use a restore point does it reset your progression in Mw3 or is that something thats tied to activision, and a restore point will just bring my pc back to the way it was before i Made tweaks, all of a sudden my TTL in TCP Optimizer will not stay at 64 it keeps going blank. Even ran as admin. I tried reinstalling it did not work. Also in UWT enable the network onboard processor will not stay checked and it used to always be checked. I wanted to do a restore but i dont want to lose progress in my games

It's important to note that Fortnite has to be the most inconsistent games to benchmark ''numbers-wise'' because of what is going on in the environment and in general servers are literally RNG one day the game feels buttery smooth and there is no input delay betwween confirming edits or placing multiple builds and the other (usually tournament or update days) feels like you are playing on +20 ping than it's showcasing, for me I've tried both GearUp and exitlag and I have to say that my ping with exitlag was just barely the same maybe 1-2 lower than usual and with Gear it went from 27 to 19-21 occasionaly dropping to 17 (lowest I've ever seen in Greece) and ingame although it remained the same I noticed it dropped down to my original creative ping (27-30) when it was less than top 15 alive in Unreal Rank EU, however I find it kind of ridiculous to pay for better ping for such a rollercoaster of a company epic games is :P Great video Khorvie

GearUp sucks It reduce my ping to 50 or 90 when i usually have 120 plus but the ping went super high sometime when i use it it doesnt happen when i disable gearup my ping stay from 120 plus to 500

@@CoalPolmeri seen your reddit post about this when i was doing research on it and was possibly moving to that area but canceled, if your wondering fortnite creative is my work and i make enough money to support myself so im clear to move to a server Area to begin with, but i believe the Ohio, Columbus server is a secondary one, i seen some instances of it being used on creative and private matches but not much else, it may be just backup as if you load in as you mentioned and check were the outbound ip connection is from its usually Ashburn Virginia, unfortunately i can't help much but i believe the Ohio server isn't really used and it tries to route everyone back to Ashburns, i can confirm myself the Columbus server exists by pinging it and going on a vacation there 2 years ago with low ping in creative but i didn't test anything else as the laptop brought was really bad and wouldn't be a reliable gameplay test

@@khorvietech I had a feeling it wouldn't work, but the reason I wanted to try it is because sometimes, when playing against people with zero ping, they just take control of the wall as if they placed it themselves. Even though I saw on my screen the edit and health of the wall as if it were my own. But then quickly disappears as my own wall and they get the wall.
