I DO think Subaru should go after the Audi All Road/Volvo Cross Country market but should add air suspension so you can raise it when you need the clearance.

They should keep the classic cladding between Gen 4 up to Gen 5, the front of Gen 6 was ok up to 2021, ever since they messed up the design Now the wheel arc plastic cladding from Crosstrek is hideous and the front fascia looks like tears coming out like 4Runner Even European and Japanese front fascia looks better

It wouldnt sell in the USA, theres a reason you guys dont get manuals or wrx wagons anymore. The outbacks also way too bloated these days to be sporty, itd just be a wrx wagon that weighs 300kg more.

The thing is - I bet 99.9% of Outback Wildernesses will never see any sort of off-roading that you couldnt take an 02 Civic down. Same with 4Runners, and Wranglers, and Raptors, and Tacomas... But people want to "buy the lifestyle". They want to look like they do those things. "well what if it snows" "what about our one trip to the mountains every year". Its the same with people who buy an F-150 because "what if I need to move a couch" Subaru won't ever build an STI outback and if they do, it will probably be electric only. They will take the brand equity and use it on an EV. I mean Subaru won't even put a real gear box in these things, what makes you think they'll build a cool version

The problem with the current Outback, it doesn't drive like a small sporty wagon, like the Outback used too. It drives like a larger crossover/SUV now. The current Legacy drives more likes a crossover/suv than a sporty sedan.

That’s a good question, it could be a concern in some situations but I think if you’re careful on speed bumps and how to back up to curbs you probably won’t notice many issues from that.

I was told that the springs were for a legacy on the previous generation but they were able to be fitted to this Outback. I’m sorry I wish I knew more. 🤷♂️😅

It seriously looked sick in person, lol. I honestly don’t know. I would assume the undercarriage air pressure drop doesn’t quite negate the airflow distribution from the Thule. I often hear of forums that a big roof rack can drop 3-4MPG, idk if these are any better than a rack? Thanks for watching! 🙂

I’m sure most lowering springs add some degree of harshness/firmness to the ride. I’m no suspension expert, but I do know that this type of set up is favoring Form over Function. With that said, I don’t recall noticing any drive ability issues, but I also didn’t push its suspension limits by any means. 🙂

So this is a dealer lowered OBXT, for how much more? Warranteed? I've got a coilover lowered 06 OBXT with the STI 6M swap. The CVT is cool but manual is the choice of drivers until Subaru offers a DCT OBXT.

I'm sure some #Subaguru (ya read it here 1st!) can swap an STI drivetrain into a new OBXT. So would you pay $55K+- for a lowered, STI 6M OBXT Touring? That IS the question!..... Cuz there won't be an M3 CS wagon nor an Audi RS4 Performance/ Competition here until 2049 at the absolute EARLIEST.🙄

That’s a good question. The used car manager who does these sort of projects to the new cars actually personally owns a late year STI with 500ho built IAG block lol. It did 0-60 in 4.3 seconds spinning all 4 winter tires at the time and shifting up to 3rd gear. Lol

I’m sorry I believe all I can remember is that they were H&R springs for a 2019 Legacy that were either interchangeable or modified to fit this newer generation Outback. It seemed to ride decently, but from what I can remember I don’t recall if it felt as comfortable as stock or not.

This looks awesome! You should do this to an XT Touring. The tune is different. The Onyx has higher RPMs before fake shifting. I think for more power in the lower gears.

I drive a black one. Trust me, the seats are horrendously uncomfortable. If you like being compressed by a seat with too much bolster in the backrest while the seat cushion lacks support resulting in a clamshell driving experience this is the car for you.

I'd go a little lower but not much. Probably a stiffer RSB to get a less understeer. With the roads where I live, low profile tires are not the best idea, but splitting the difference between the stock profile can be doable. Better tires than the Avids. Definitely no cargo box. I'm more of a 'low drag, high speed' kinda guy.

It does look good but an outback is supposed to be jacked up. Its a jacked up legacy. I wouldnt lower it. With the right rims and tires, it looks great jacked. For those wagon fans, check out the john cooperworks Mini Countryman. It drives more like a sport wagon than an suv and has 301hp from a BMW B48 2.0L Turbo motor. Years up to 2019 you can get it in manual.

I own a garage next to an import tuner shop and these guys come in all the time. They leave the rooftop boxes on full time because they think it looks cool. Also you’re right in calling these people fools. 90% percent of these people who do the stance or lowered look have major suspension issues and alignment problems. Volkswagen owners tend to the worse, but I see lots of Subaru enthusiasts having issues too.

The Mazda CX-50 looks better and doesn't have a CVT. But I'd rather have the smaller Impreza RS. The Outback used to be smaller but now it's a massive car. Naaaa.....
