Lowering a Sail on the Californian

An all-volunteer sail crew, Red Door Interactive "recruits," and others work together to lower a sail on the Californian. She is one of several historic ships from the Maritime Museum of San Diego, and is used primarily for educational programs for school groups. The Californian is a replica of an 1860s revenue cutter (law & tax enforcement ship) that patrolled the California coastline around the time of the gold rush.
