For a system like this where you’re probably not coming close to producing all of your power from your solar panels, this is a perfect opportunity to switch to a “time of use” plan from your utility provider. They all vary, but mine gives me a 25% discount for non-peak usage and charges 3x normal usage during peak. Peak varies by time of year, but it is summer and winter evenings 6-9PM, and winter mornings 6-9AM. I can just operate from battery during those times and get a 25% discount on all of my electricity. Since only 10 circuits can be used, it would take some other things, like a smart thermostat the might pre-cool or pre-heat my home leading up to peak times and not run it at all during peak. Also, no clothes dryer or other unnecessary appliances during peak. With a dual Delta Pro setup, those other appliances might work.

@@TechMadeEzy Update! I got the SHP and 2 Delta Pro batteries, called the electrician and found out that my electrical cabinet needed to be replaced. He replaced it$$ and connected the SHP. Right out of the box it had 2 bad 30A plugs. Also the SHP only comes with 1 Infinity cable. I had to order the second cable from a 3rd party co who said they were in stock. After I ordered it, suddenly it was backordered(still haven't received it). I bought the Smart Gas generator and found out that an adapter is needed to connect to the DP for DC charging. So I had to order that and wait. The last straw was the 30A plugs are not available and had to be preordered. Ok, so I just got all of my return labels and I'm shipping the entire system back for refund. Also if your electrical panel is recessed you might not want to go with the SHP. Please can you go over the connection from the eco-flow to the smart home panel in more detail. This is first video I have seen in which only a single cable goes from the ecoflow delta pro to the smart panel. Does this provide power at 120 V to only one-side of the circuit breaker box? Do you have to choose your 10 circuits from one side only? Thank you. I have six panels (each 440 W rated). Three in series and the other three in series and these two strings connected in parallel. That’s to ensure the voltage input to the EcoFlow remains within the 150V limit because each panel provides a voltage of 47 V. The total input power is just over 1200W at peak sun. So essentially double your input for a few hours. Hope this helps.

I think I am missing something here because I don't see the savings making up for the cost of this system. The setup does look great but at $3200 for the Delta Pro, $4800 for 2 extra batteries, $2400 for 2 400w solar panels and $1400 for the home panel (plus installation) this system is at least $12000. Electricity where I am is expensive and it costs me 23 cents / Kwh including delivery. To pay off the system and just break even I would have to use 52k Kwh. This setup provides 10.8 Kwh so it would take 4800 cycles. If you get 2 days use that would come out to 26 years before it would be paid off. That sounds like spending $2 to save $1. Like I said I must be missing something. I see this system working great for people with RVs or who experience frequent power outages but to get it just to save on your electric bill the cost of setup is not worth it. I believe there are much cheaper alternatives available.

Curious how long it would take to actually break even.
@J-onUtube2 жыл бұрын
@@gravediggermordekai7032 it's not a hard calculation to do. Example: pretend you already had solar panels, the cheapest battery (3600 watts) is $3,200 on Amazon right now. If you buy that and supplement home usage with the 3600 watts, you will save about 3.6kWh per day (actually less bc losses). So at my house that's like $0.40/day not going to my utility company. So break even on battery is $3,200/$0.40/day = 8000 days or 21 yrs.
@duggerray2 жыл бұрын
@@J-onUtube But that's not how it works. If you are hooked up to solar panels then you are going to get far more than 3600 watts of usage a day. The battery stores 3600 watts at a given time (if at 100%). Let's say that during the day my usage is 600 watts per hour, but I've got solar panels bringing in over 600 watts per hour - then I'm not using any of the 3600 watts stored in the battery and still have those to use later (during the evening and night, for example).
