Thx!!! Again!!! Where can we buy pool parts at a decent discount? Thx again. Your videos are excellent!!!!
@PoolSchooler Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, I don’t know of a particular store or website that carries pool parts at a decent discount. I, like most of the pool service professionals in my area, go through a company that service our profession with wholesale prices. My best suggestion would be to search specifically for the part you are looking for online and look for the best price.

So my pool chlorine is low and algae is starting to form. I live in AZ. They say the heat will kill my chlorine. What should I do first. Ph too high everything is out of wack. Help plz 🙏
@PoolSchooler5 ай бұрын
When it comes to Poole chemistry there is one chemical in your pool that will determine whether or not your pool burns more or less chlorine. Or better said holds more or less chlorine. That is too low or too high CYA levels. This video should help. kzbin.info/www/bejne/lauYZoZ4qM-Umtksi=BqyoQ7eqCMZ-VII6 And as far as your Poole turning green, I did a video on the things that you can do to avoid ever having a green pool. Here’s a link. kzbin.info/www/bejne/r2XLkpZql8qEqcUsi=PVHe7vsuo3KQ6H4U And lastly, here’s a video I did on testing your pool waterand want to test for kzbin.info/www/bejne/rGOyf5hvj52cgdEsi=itTcOwMHXbYDvUyo Oh, one more, this one is on the chemicals that I use for my Cool service. In Arizona, and I only use seven. And not all of them all at the same time those are just the ones I use to properly maintain my clients pool chemistry. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rYHCY6xofburrMksi=-n23XxzFQsTuuKaN Hope these help.

It's not the heat that "kills" the chlorine, it's the UV light from the Sun. Longer, sunnier days require more chlorine to be put in the pool. Cyanuric acid (CYA) works as "sunscreen" to protect your chlorine from getting "killed" too quickly. Make sure your CYA level is reasonable. Do you have a lot of greenery planted around your pool? Phosphates come from trees, plants, grass, etc. Phosphates are "algae food". Once you get your CYA and chlorine levels correct, pay attention to the phosphate level as far as algae growth. Kill the algae with chlorine. Starve the algae to death by using a phosphate remover. I highly recommend Orenda PR-10,000. It works like magic, but it's not cheap. I never have green algae blooms anymore and I'm terrible about brushing the walls of my pool.

I'm surprised you can get an accurate reading of the pool water after just 1 hour after adding chems. Does the water really get mixed up that fast? If so, is 1 hour long enough after adding any liquid chemicals? (I would assume dry chems will take longer because they have to dissolve before they can disperse) Thanks!
@PoolSchooler2 жыл бұрын
In my experience most chemicals in the pools I service mix in and distribute pretty well in an hour or so with the pump running. But if waiting for two hours makes you feel better you can most certainly do that.

Hi Kenny, my pool's ph was tested today, it's 8,2!!! How do I bring it down? It shows no chlorine. It is green. A mablelite old pool. 13m x 5.5m, municipality water & rain water, hth pool. I have used alum power. I have vacummed it. Our pool supplier advised me: it won't even help putting in chlorine if ph is so high. I should not use floaters, which I consistingly have 2 in. I should add 6 bags (25kg each) of salt in pool. Today I've changed the sand in the filter. So desperate.

The pool store sold me sulfuric acid over Muriatic acid. Is this safe in my vinyl liner above ground pool?
@PoolSchooler3 жыл бұрын
I have never ever use sulfuric acid in a pool. I guess they use sulfuric acid to raise The overall acidity in a pool. But as I have said in so many of my different videos, I use muriatic acid to lower the pH of a pool, dry pool acid to lower the alkalinity, soda ash to raise the pH, and bicarbonate of soda to raise the alkalinity. I try to keep it simple.

Hey I have a question is it normal for when I plug in my vacume to dedicated pool suction side my skimmer makes like a weird draining sound and the water doesn’t make a wirlpool the water just drains into my skimmer
@PoolSchooler3 жыл бұрын
Your water level is either too low, you have a stuck skimmer door or you have too much suction to the skimmer and not enough to the vacuum.

Do you know how to figure out what type of skimmer you have to replace the weir door? thanks in advance.

High pH add Muriatic acid to lower it, High alkalinity add dry granular pool acid to lower it. Low chlorine yes add some liquid chlorine.

How long should you wait to swim after adding muriatic acid? I need to add 36oz
@PoolSchooler2 жыл бұрын
Depending on the size of your pool I’m going to assume it is a 10 two 15,000 gallon playpool. Typically if you add 1 quart of muriatic acid with the pool equipment running you should be able to swim almost immediately after adding it. I’ve even had clients swim after adding 2 quarts to a pool that size. If you’re concerned about sensitive skin maybe wait 20 minutes with the equipment running for up to 2 quarts. But if you add more than that I’d probably wait an hour with the equipment running and you should be OK.

I have a brand new 11,000 gallon pool salt water in my pH level is always high. I’ve been adding half ago. A lot of acid per week is still high. Any suggestions?
@PoolSchooler Жыл бұрын
It has been my experience that saltwater pools typically have the issue of high pH that you are describing. I decided to look into it further and found this on Google. “A salt water pool creates sodium hydroxide as a byproduct because the sodium in the water combines with the oxygen and hydrogen molecules. One of the reasons behind your pool's high pH level could very well be the sodium hydroxide because this system itself has a surprisingly high pH.” There is also a possibility that your source of water could have a high pH, which is easy to check just test some water that comes directly out of your hose spigot and see what the pH is on that. If it’s high, then that’s probably the culprit. If not, it’s probably sodium hydroxide. In which case you’re probably going to have to continue to add one or 2 quarts of muriatic acid on a weekly basis to keep the pH where it needs to be.

hey man, my pool is VERY green, even though we shocked it. There isn't algae and I've tested it several times and the PH is normal but the chlorine is very high from the shock. I don't understand why it is green if the PH is normal and there isn't any algae. How can i fix this?

Liquid muriatic acid
@ktcpools3 жыл бұрын
Pretty sure muriatic acid is just an alternative name for hydrochloric acid by the way.
@PoolSchooler3 жыл бұрын
Muriatic acid is a form of hydrochloric acid, which has a pH of about 1 to 2. The only differences between hydrochloric acid and muriatic acid are purity-muriatic acid is diluted to somewhere between 14.5 and 29 percent, and often contains impurities like iron.
@nunyabitnezz28022 ай бұрын
Mix the acid with water in a bucket or watering can before adding it to your pool! Don’t just pour it straight into the pool.
@PoolSchooler2 ай бұрын
@@nunyabitnezz2802 I would respectfully disagree with you on that. The moment the acid hits the water and that much water it dilutes very quickly. Every Pool Service pro that I’ve ever worked with or no does not dilute it with water first. But given that it is a little bit safer so that if it does splash on you, it’s not as concentrated amount so it can’t possibly burn a hole in your clothes or at least cause itching on your legs if it comes into contact with your skin.
@nunyabitnezz28022 ай бұрын
@@PoolSchooler First of all, you have the best pool videos on KZbin! I saw one man’s video where the acid was shown to have a high specific gravity, and sank straight to the bottom of the pool, dyed to make it visible. I understand that if poured into return jets it would probably disperse before damaging anything. There are lots of pool videos advising it be diluted first however, and it couldn’t hurt. I never miss your advice.
