Hello my fellow neighbor and home gardener. Thank you for watching my video and for your positive feedback. Gardening has always been my passion and as a matter of fact I have been thinking about building a coop and getting a few chicks. Do you have lots of chickens? Are they a lot of maintenance? Be well and Happy Gardening!!!

I have 8 hens with no rooster. I have raised chickens for years and my favorite breeds are Buff Orpingtons and Black Austrolorps. They are very hardy, lay nice brown eggs and are good meat birds as well.

@@budmackes792 Oh wow. Sounds like you know your breeds very well. In NY state it's illegal to keep roosters a pet. How do they manage outside during the bitter cold winter months?

HEY! is it too late to plant 75% off perennials in mid Nov? or still have time?

Hello and thank you for watching my video. You are asking an excellent question! You can still plant a lot in November including perennials and Fall flower bulbs. As long as the ground is not frozen, the soil is workable go ahead and plant. Just remember not to fertilize at the time of planting because you don't want to encourage new growth right before Winter. Most of the perennials are already either dormant or are in the process of going into dormancy which is also great for planting them now in the Fall. Also if the ground is not frozen but the air temps are low try to plant rather quickly and don't expose the root ball to cold temps for too long as it will stress the plant out. I just planted new raspberry shrubs and a Chicago hardy fig tree that I got from clearance racks ( I have those videos on my channel). Be well and Happy Gardening!!!
