It's the worst when you know the thought process behind their every movement but at the same time they pretty much stay one step ahead and it's brutal how close it was in skills and yet one tiny decision caused everything to crumble in the matchup. Despite how painful it is, that feeling of being challenged by someone of equal caliber is exactly why high skill games feel so rewarding when you are the winner next time

The Thor javelin missile change is a bit of a double-edged sword, functionally giving the Thor an anti-air shotgun rather than the long range peashooter it used to be. It's a LOT better vs clumped up air of all types...but at the price of putting it in the line of fire against said air units as a 7 range attack since it can't use the new javelin missiles while sitting at the back of the army with 10 range. In the case of Mutas within this interaction, they can actually fly away from Thors much more easily now but at the price of suffering from much more severe splash damage (at the same damage numbers as before...so still a lot). It makes Thors actually harder to use against Mutas (less range means more chances to fly away with superior speed and mobility), but much more effective when they are successfully used. The REAL game changer is going to be the new javelin missiles against clumped up Armored air units since now the attack is significantly stronger vs non-light units albeit now requires direct head-on combat with said Armored air units now. It utilizes the Thor's phat hp to be a frontline tank, rather than an ironic backline sniper, which we have yet to see if this will end up comically pointless or horrendously broken or unnoticeably minor.

@@GreenT_LoR as a Terran main, I'd be ok to remove ghosts if Terran can have an army composition that doesn't require sieging 3 different types of units, sacrificing 1/5 of bios health in order to be competitive (only to spend half of the time for running from AoE), splitting for life (which no other race needs to do). Take any meta army composition from Zerg or Protoss at equal supply and upgrades and a-move it against unsieged un-stimmed Terran army. It's a walkover, every single time. Which means Terran needs to pay more attention and control their army to beat a simple a-move. Can it be done? Sure. Does Terran have the highest skill ceiling? Maybe. But it's harder than both Protoss and Zerg.

Watch content creators like Lowko, Harstem, Winter, PiG, but honestly the best you can do is not to try copy pros because their build orders are really hard to execute and each build has specific goals what you should be trying to do etc. My advice, look for PiG's or Vibe's B2GM series (bronze to GM), you will learn much more there. With some practice it will take you to roughly Diamond 3 or 2 level, where a universal build order doesn't cut it anymore, you'll die to random stuff, cheeses etc. You'll learn to lot how to think, adapt and execute. Don't put too much expectations, remember to have fun.

Imo the game _was_ balanced before balance council but Serral was too OP so they nerfed it for him. The correct interpretation of "balance for the highest level" is "balance so that two players of _equal skill_ at the highest level should be even", NOT "the best and second best player should be even despite the fact that the best is like 40% better than the second best". Also, I do agree that ZvP is imba for toss. We got a buff against Terran when Terran was OP in both matchups. Now TvP is ~fair but Zerg is left behind.

I just hesitate making any conclusions about patches based on a single match with Clem, Serral, or even MaxPax vs. a lower tier player (meaning no disrespect to them!). Especially Clem proved how much he could trounce Zerg at Worlds. I'm willing to concede that I think Zerg will struggle to adapt to the Queen nerf, but I'm not yet willing to come to any conclusions.

We have to understand that the game lives by the life of a normal average guy. So if Zerg vs Terran or Protoss goes bad for them then it be changed. The bad thing is that a small advantage for one or the other gets exploited to the maximum when in the hands of a master. Almost like chess the higher the level of skill the smaller the advance you need to win. What is the value of going first in chess and everything else been equal well white wins over black more than black over white. That is first move advantage. Terran vs Zerg vs protos is way less balance by a mile.

Change to fungal growth is definitely not what made battle mech playable, the way that works is fungal slows down the units, lings trap them, roach ravager close the distance and kill them. Battle mech is only possible with kiting, equal supply roach ravager destroys battle mech if both sides just a-move. So no, debunked, myth.

Spoiler alert!! This game was very painful to watch. Obviously, Queens are the line of defense for Zerg, they need to revert the change to them, so they are more reliable. Also, wtf with the Banes? 1 Siege Tank is enough to destroy a group of them, because their HP are lower now, this is nuts! It seems like the early game can only have Roaches now (how boring), they need Banes to be better again in order to have a diverse army composition.
