He doesn't know anything about the queen so here goes : Parasite is a permanent "Revelation" on a single unit. Ensnare is an AoE ability that applies a severe slow effect and reveals cloaked units, Spawn Broodlings kills a ground unit and spawns two broodlings for the zerg player in their place. (Doesn't work on Probes, Reavers, Archons and Dark Archons). And of course there's infest, which allows you to steal a command center that is at critical HP to make Infested terrans from it, which have been talked about in length by the other viewers in the comment section.

One big criticism of zerg in SC2 is the lack of air units. SC1 zerg certainly didn't have that problem!
@oj430852 жыл бұрын
You didn't talk about the overloads in sc1 where each one of them are effectively an overseer, and with 3 upgrade (drop, sight range, speed) from the lair they all can become transports too. So 200 supply , all those overloards are detectors and transports.

He couldn't. He'd need a terran player, and he doesn't want an opponent because they might screw him up trying to get all the units. His only option would be a terran player that agreed ahead of time to help.

Nydus Canals act like a two-way door to keep your bases connected and ready to be reinforced from any base instead of trying to move your ground army over the terrain or to replenish/move workers quickly in the event of an attack. Also can be built on both friendly and enemy Zerg player creeps for further reinforcement of their forces or your own. Much more useful than Nydus Worms imho.
@TheMightyYiffer7 жыл бұрын
Plus, the original Starcraft had a lot more island map, where you would have to move units with the dropship/overlord/shuttle. The Nydus canal was very nice if you had an island base somewhere cut off from your main base.

I never fully understood how Dark Swarm worked when I used to play back when, but now I guess it. It's sort of an inverse of the Viper's Blinding Cloud. Rather than stopping units underneath from attacking, it prevents units underneath from taking any damage from ranged attacks. This means you can cover your army to advance on a siege tank position, or, if you have just Zerglings and Ultras, you can drop it everywhere because melee units will still be able to deal damage under them. Extremely powerful spell! The Devourer's acid spores are very cool too, and I just recently learned more about them. The main effect which is obvious is that they will stack up on a target (1 per attack, up to 9), and reduce the enemy unit's attack speed, somewhat like the Vile Roach in the SC2 campaign. The spores don't deal damage over time, however they have something similar to an armor reduction effect. Any unit that attacks an enemy that has acid spores on them will deal 1 extra point of damage per spore. This means that Devourers synergize well with each other, because they have a small splash radius on their attack, and they synergize extremely well with Mutalisks because each bounce of the Mutalisk's attack will benefit from the bonus damage. So for example a Mutalisk attack against a group of 3 enemies might deal 9, then 3, then 1 damage with a single bouncing attack, (a total of 13), but if each of these 3 targets has 3 acid spores on them, then the Mutalisk will deal 12, then 6, then 4 damage (a total of 22) which is an enormous increase in damage for a single shot from a single unit!
@TheMightyYiffer7 жыл бұрын
Plus if you hit a wraith has a spore on it, his cloak is rendered useless.

The defiler's orange cloud used to protect ground units under it against all range attacks but not against psionic strom, lurker attack or tanks splash damage and didn't work for buildings. Plague drains life to 1hp of units and buildings but doesn't kill them, doesn't affect protoss shields. Melee + defilers was very strong

Queen, parasite gives the player vision in an area. so if you use on a enemy scv you can see from their view a reduced range. spawn broodlings would insta kill any ground unit and spawn two broodlings which would auto attack the nearest thing for heavy damage. ensnare would slow units while also revealing any cloked unit hit by it. defiler plague, will damage and lower a units hp to 1 but will not kill it. useful vs protoss as it does not damage the shield. also the guardian and devourer are the same as the one abathur uses in coop.

Still, great work and i really looking forward to this story play-through ^^

Ugh, Queens and Defilers. My siege tank lines got decimated by them when they used the spawn broodling cast on one of my tanks, only to have them fire upon each other thanks to the splash damage. And to make that worse, that spell cast is a one hit one kill. The plague from defilers scares me. Its an OP version of fungal growth, but it doesn't kill your units. It just reduces all unit HP to 1, only to have them sniped by mutas seconds later.
