EXCELLENT- thank you! I just bought an HDS 9 and had a question do I install both transducers-and after watching your you tube: "YES" and I also see I need to go buy the piece of plastic to install the transducers on---THANK YOU!

We used Ram part number RAM-D-111U-C for both units. Very strong with the short arm. We rest the ball on the dash so the unit doesn't fall over rough seas. Google that P/N and you'll find good prices.

Thats actually some material Mike got from Lund when he was at the factory. Its like a fiber plastic that we cut to size and routered the edges. The black looks better than the white. Try McMaster Carr for a similar black material...it's 3/4" thick.

Does the leg of the motor interfere with the sidescan?

The structure scan module is a seperate purchase from the HDS8

Do you raise the motor up when using the structure scan?

Where did the standard 2d puck transducer cable go to? I am trying to run both like you but the structure scan box only accepts 1.

@n4sir804 We've been mounting in that area for years on our Lunds. Seems to be the smoothest part of the hull with the least amount of rivets in front of it. It's a time tested location for these boats, not sure how the bass guy's do it.

That piece of wood on which you are installing the devices on, how did you get it there ? I have a Princecraft Yukon, do I just screw that through and add some silicone or something ? I'm a bit squeamish about drilling holes in a boat lol. Thanks.

Mounting on Starboard side is recomended due to the turbulance of the clockwise rotating prop...however we have a 9.9 pro-kicker mounted to the starboard side. We see no evidence of turbulance on the port side and the units graph perfectly at high and low speeds.

Is a fish finder with a 300 transducer better then a 200? Im wanting a Garmin 301dv (300 trans) ppl are saying the Lowrance Elite-4x HDI Fishfinder with 83/200 (200 trans) is better? NEED TO KNOW FAST! And "IS" for a in hull kayak

the motor has an anticlockwise prop. hence, left side placement.

Does the hds module supply power to the screen on the dash via ethernet? or do I need power cables for both the module and my hds 7?

I was always told to mount on opposite side of transom less chance of turbulence interference idk maby doesn't matter
