Lowriders unite in hopes of getting National City ordinance revoked

In 1992, National City established a no cruise ordinance to help curb crime and traffic congestion, ending a tradition usually celebrated on Highland Avenue.
A group of lowriders have banded together and is looking to have the ordinance revoked.

Let's be real, National City is not busy on Sunday Nights.. unless you're out there to cruise. Lowriders bring business to local businesses. This stigma by the NCPD is pathetic. Very *PETTY* there will always be crime in National City cruising or not. It's always been that way, especially in this lower income area. Did banning Lowriding curb crime? Nope! They need to do away with that ridiculous ban.

They need to let people cruise Highland. It's a different time then it was in 1992. I remember growing up in Escondido in 1992 and hearing about crusin Highland.

Apply to the city for a cultural (Hispanic)festival/parade permit where on a monthly basis there could vendors selling tasty street tacos etc and your customized, heritage lifestyle rides can cruise Highland in peace. Maybe the Walmart would let you use part of their parking lot as a home base to gather? Good luck beating the pinche ordinance

Ordinances do not need to be revoked. Lowriders must assert their right to be on public roadways. If the community wants to cruise Highland on Sundays then the community has every right to do so and privileged (licensed) drivers of motor vehicles must yield and adjust to their right! It is unlawful for the state to diminish the peoples' rights, regulate the use of, or punish anyone for the exercise of their guaranteed and protected rights for victimless activities! *Visit us on FB to be informed of the peoples' right to use public roadways.
